As vile and crazy as he was did he know what he was doing?

For instance. Iraq was dubbed "Bad Guy" by the U.N. yet he seemed to know how to work the system.

A person I live with has been experiencing mental problems for years now and only now does it grow to the point of being serious. I do not fear for my safety at the moment however I would like to know in case I am threatened and action is taken. Is mental illness taken into account when filing restraining orders and if so, how is it effected?

(I live in WA if that makes any difference.)

Thanks in advanced.

would it costs me £160 for my family (me,my partner and my son) to travel 200 miles by train to london (return)
,£100 ( return) by plane but only £75 if i travel to spain and back by a low budget airline.
oh and if i travel by car to london it will cost aroung £50 in fuel ,to get there and back.
Why not make public transport cheaper?

A system of political appointments is bound to be influenced by party politics, cronyism and, at worst, corruption... just like, some would argue, the current House of Lords.

Popular elections are already held for the Commons, so why have another elected house? Besides, do the masses really know what is best for the country?

I propose having a House of Lords filled or elected by the educated and accomplished. Either the House or its electorate could be structured among such lines...
25% academics,
25% technical experts,
25% legal experts (e.g. current Law Lords),
25% people awarded for contributions to society (e.g. Nobel laureates).

My idea is bound to be controversial, but I do believe that the Lords should be a counterbalance to populism and somewhat disconnected from the masses. After all, the masses are already represented in the Commons (the more powerful house!). Your opinions?

Left wing liberals originally represented the 'individualist' ideology; however that changed in America. Now left wing seems to represent Socialism or Collectivism in one form or another, and Right Wing represents Individualism. (Talking about foundational principles here.) So is Fascism, in principle, a Left Wing or Right Wing Ideology? In line with current interpretation of the two polarities.

instead of using weapons of mass destruction...total annihiliation and genocide. Whatever became of the "art of war..." Iraq is a total mess.

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am!" The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You’re in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude." She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican.""I am," replied the man. "How did you guess?" "Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me." The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat." "I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well" said the man, "You don’t know where you are or where you’re going. You’ve risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You’ve made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You’re in EXACTLY the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it’s MY fault."

I mean really does it matter whether your republican or democrat, shouldn't it only matter which candidate supports the most topics that you support?
Do people just affiliate with one political group just so they can say they belong to something?

I personally don't vote because Republicans and Democrats always win, its always 50/50, while I have no significant problem with each, i was just wondering why it all matters really?

Why vote the mafia and the power puts whomever they want in office.

Are you not fed up of meeting people who can speak only a few words of English? How on Earth are these people supposed to benefit our society or economy in any way, beyond making it more secular, with different ethnic-background communities sticking together? Or do you thinkg language does not matter?
Should all immigrants have to take an English test, to make sure they can speak, write, and read english to an appropriate degree?

I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. After looking into each candidate, Ron Paul has not only got my vote but impressed me with his voting history and stances.

However, think about it: our country consists of the same people that voted for Bush TWICE. We believe everything that we hear in the media and don't question it. Do you think that people will pry themselves away from their TV's and do some of their own research to see why Paul is the best candidate?
