Since we want to go away for 12 months to Hong Kong that creates 2 problems for us.

One, she can not leave the US for longer than 6 months.

Two, according to the time line the INS has, they are going to call her back in in about 3-4 months for more paperwork, etc.

I think there is a way to speed up the removal of conditions on residence process if one's significant other is leaving the US for a job, but in my case, its education, pursuing an MBA.

Would that qualify for a speedier process, without us having to come back here for additional interviews and not have to worry about staying outside of the US for longer than 6 months?

If you haven't gone through the immigration process you should go back to your country of origin, even if you don't have any rights there!
Anti-immigration people want this so badly, so let's do it!
Send back every European, African, Asian and anyone else who doesn't have a document with them getting their permanent residency green card first, then spending 5 years here, living without committing crimes while working, paying taxes and then filing for citizenship. If you didn't go through this, or your parents didn't go through this you should have to go back. If you can't trace your heritage it sucks to be you. Those who are so against "achor" babies, all of those "anchor" baby children should be sent back. All decendents of those illegals for the last 300 years.

If you want to enforce a law, then do it the right way. No half-stepping.

I am not saying that we should have gone to war for oil, but is it really a bad idea to have an army sitting on top of the second largest oil reserve in the world? Some day 20 years from now if we have control of that oil will people say that Bush was a visionary. Remember what they said about Seward when he purchased Alaska? Putting this in military section because I am not trying to get political answers hoping more of historical, philosophical type answer if that makes sense.

My Mother was Born in Cayman Islands aka British overseas territory.

All BOTCs except for those whose British overseas territories (BOT) citizenship derived solely from a connection with the Sovereign Base Areas in Cyprus (hereafter abbreviated to 'SBAs') became British citizens automatically on 21 May 2002. They can transmit their British citizenship to their children automatically, in the same way as they can transmit BOT citizenship (subject to certain limitations if they are born overseas).

I was born in USA.

Do you really think all 12 million of those undocumented immigrants are here from Mexico alone? Get a clue!

Studies document, even in the biased Center for Immigration Studies that:
Out of the 12 million illegal immigrants 8 million of them are Mexican. Now this may seem like a massive amount of those "still" illegal but out of the 33 million foreign born migrants, 15 million of them are Eastern Europeans who in the last 10 years have done it using anchor babies and scam marraiges through prostitution.
No one really want to expose the seedy underbelly of the problem but you may consider those 7.9999 million Mexicans lawbreakers but only a small handful of them actually do real crime like forging documents or running drugs, whereas Eastern Europeans have entire money laundering schemes, credit card fraud and they do it using the holes in the system.

So go ahead and tighten up the border and build better walls and stop hardworking people from getting jobs and contributing.

Daily, or weekly, and of substantive time. Maybe we would get more involved with our leaders again, instead of relying on, nationally recognized, but untrained, except in shock jock tactics meant to titillate the public, and, bring in more $'s.

After seeing the ongoings of Bohemian Grove- mock human sacrifice, worship of giant owl gods, wearing weird robes and chanting pagan rituals- I can't help but think that anyone who attends is far from christian. So if Bush and friends go, does this mean they are hiding theyre true beliefs from the public? And shouldn't this be discussed by the media?

The Libby Legal Defense Trust, backed by former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson and other prominent Republicans, has raised more than $5 million to help Libby defray his legal costs, The Politico has learned, with contributions of as little as $5 coming from grass-roots conservatives.

Mary Matalin, the vice president’s former counselor, wrote direct-mail letters raising more than $1 million, and she has promoted a Libby fundraising website during her frequent radio and TV appearances.

Perjury - a conservative republican Value
Members of the party of responsibility and integrity do not want to be held responsible for anything and have absolutely no integrity. And to think they used "no underlying crime" to fire up the base, to justify a republican party leader's lying to a federal prosecutor.

Oh, if there were no underlying crime why did scooter HAVE to lie?

An underage patron or group of patrons enter a bar serving alcohol, they either showed false identification or they were able to get passed the guy at the door. They are caught and ejected possibly they charged criminally for the false identification. If the Bar owner does not to the best of his ability enforce the legal age laws his licenses is revoked he is fined and he may also face criminal charges. Everyone agrees that this is just, even Bushes daughters.

An illegal immigrant or group of immigrants enter the country and seek employment, they either show false identification or slip past the guy at the door. They are caught and deported possibly they charged criminally for the false identification. If the employer does not to the best of his ability enforce the legal immigration laws his licenses to do business is revoked and he may also face criminal charges. 12 million plus illegal immigrants have entered our country and many may be illegally employed as well. Someone is not watching the door or is ignoring the laws.

Why would anyone think that there is anyway to justify the illegal actions of any of these parties?

A republican Senator visited Iraq a few months ago. He spoke with soldiers from his state. One told him that when an Iraqi officer told a few of his men that he was Catholic, they stoned him to death. People, maybe Iraq is NOT READY to be a stable nation willing to trade its "beliefs" in for compromise and a constitutional government dedicated to stability. It is time to go...

In the current political climate, in which Richard Nixon, and Barry Goldwater would be considered far to the left of center, all media (internet, radio, print and televised) are owned and operated by multibillionares who can label moderate conservatism as radical liberalism, and old pseudo-scientific arguments espousing the genetic inferiority of blacks and poor people are once again gaining credence. What forces, if any are likely to rebalance the equation and restore some compassion and reason to public dialogue?

I mean I keep hearing people referring to themselves as Americans, to "others" who are in their country, legal or not, as "outsiders". It's such a consistent mentality that I just have to wonder if there are others who cringe when they hear people talk like that?

EVERY person in America is an immigrant, unless you are of aboriginal descent. So when did this "right" to segregate yourselves from others and plant a stakeholders claim come to be exactly? If you have a certificate in hand that says I'm entitled and you're not can you just pull that out please?

Maybe when that attitude changes, other things will start to change too...because right now it seems to me that most Americans and just digging themselves deeper into a hole with this "holier than thou" attitude.
