Fear is a natural human condition. But, as General George S. Patton advised, "never take counsel of your fears."

There are some Islamists, who want to reestablish the great caliphate, who will do so by blowing people up. It is best not to look away from those types of people.

There were once great leaders in your country...but...sadly, your ilk are all that is left. Your country is being taken over by people who will cut your fingers off for having the mohawk you style here on Y!A.

You may recall a little fiasco on September 11, 2001. Those were not Catholics or Scientologists that did that. Those were Muslims. Many Americans then read The Koran to see why such a thing could happen, and lo and behold, The Koran actually encourages Muslims to convert or kill nonMuslms. Do you still wonder why we don't trust Muslims?

There is a difference between Muslim Americans, and Arab Muslims. Let me just say that I don't judge anyone nor look down on anyone for any reason, but the situation in the middle east has caused Arab Muslims (many, but not all) to hate America with a passion. Just look on the television, you can see Muslims shouting death to this and death to that; go to the Gaza Strip and you'll see graffiti everywhere like "we knock on the gates of heaven with the skulls of dead Jews". Why shouldn't the world be a little afraid of those people? When a Danish cartoon paper printed pictures of Muhammad the Muslims in the middle east exploded and went burning things and breaking things and shouting their usual death to everything routine. Yet in that same country clothing company makes anti Christian jeans with the cross upside down in a statement against Christendom and you don't see Christians marching on the streets burning things. This was indeed put on the news, on international TV. and Christians were not out protesting.

Muslim Americans on the other hand are usually Americans who convert to Islam later in their life, but still keep the principles of America in their heart, or are Muslims from other countries but then adapt to American society. I find Muslim Americans to be just fine to be honest with you. In America, regardless of what religion you are, you're American. Unlike other countries who citizens are bound together by religious, ethnic, or historical ties, Americans are usually people who immigrated to the country, or are decedents from immigrants and are not necessarily bound together by religious beliefs, or ethnicity, or history, but are tied together in their believe that democracy is the most optimal form of government and that an free market economy is the most desirable form of economic organization. So these ties, for the most part, usually surpass people's religious belief.

You think those are the most famous Americans? Where do you live? We know Ali suffers from brain damage after taking one punch too many. And the other two are nothings.

As a Christian originally from the Middle East, I do not afraid of them, I just do not like their attitude, and here is why:
They promote hate and refuse the others,
They have confiscated all the rights of Christian for a free worship, and prevented them from even maintain their old churches (look to the examples in Egypt)
They curse all Christianity and call them names, and if you tried to answer you go to jail.
The tribal law (which is mostly the most used law in the Arab areas) is always in favor of Muslims in any kind of dispute (land, wages, neighborhood, daily living, anything you think of)
They are allowed to ask you to convert to Islam and you are not allowed to ask them the same
If you are converted from the Islam religion your punishment is death
It is absolutely right to beat your child and your wife in their religion
I have lots of examples from the real life about their practices and hatred of all others...

I think most people differentiate African American Muslims from Arabic Muslims. Even though they are of the Muslim religion, most people don't consider them the same as an Arabic Muslim.

i think its how you are looking at the thing as a whole as we Brits and the Americans are not afraid of Muslims and there's no reason why we should be but if your referring to Muslim terrorist then yes remember 9/11 and London street bombing from enemies within

I'd say it's more mistrust than fear, but that's just me.

When the silent majority of those who worship Mohammad and Allah speak up and condemn the Radicals and their acts of violence perhaps some of the mistrust will go. Until then I think it's perfectly understandable to question the allegiance and motives of Muslims.
