It would be the humane thing to do, unselfish and all that. I think we should always treat everyone in the manner we wish to be treated ourselves. (Bible: Do unto others etc)

It makes me sad that there has been so many negative answers to this question, and so few positive ones.

There are a few facets to this question, just because a person is disabled does not mean that they will have to use the NHS, a disability can be any one of a huge range of things, few of them require hospital care after the original cause.
Yes a lot of illegal immigrants come here with little or nothing to their name, but a lot of them quickly build a life for them selves here, they are not all a drain on our society.
Perhaps if there were fewer locals who were willing to employ illegals at a fraction of the minimum wage with no questions asked there would be less of an attraction for them.

The question seems to imply that the NHS is in a bad way because it is having to treat all of these illegals, well thats nonsense, the NHS is being run into the ground by poor management, underfunding, and a growing population who are older and more unfit than ever.

Should illegals be deported back to their own country, yes of course they should, as long as it is safe to do so. But in the meantime treat them as humans with feelings and needs, because if we don't what does that say about us as a nation, certainly nothing that starts with 'Great'

If they have come illegally they should be sent straight back.If you go to most countries in the world today(legally) you are required to have insurance to cover any costs if you don't then you don't get treat. If you enter another country illegally they have you out on the first availible transport. It's a lottery they are playing in that if they get here they know that the PC correct wallies will fight tooth and nail to keep them here.NOT because they give a sh** about their human rights but because it is a big buissiness generating millions of pounds for them(the PC brigade) making a lot of people RICH

No....we should send them home. They broke our laws to get here. In normal immigration circumstances we probably wouldn't allow people who can't cope for themselves to come into the country. We are supposed to be protecting our country and our citizens...and it our money that gets used to pay for this kind of care.]

It is different if an immigrant comes in legally...later becomes a citizen...then they have all the protections every citizen has...they are one of us. But illegal immigrants have broken our laws to get in here...often to claim benefits that are not theirs.

Also our constitution was written for us...the citizenry...and no one else. We may feel everyone deserves to be free....but our constitution was written to ensure our freedom. Others need to write their own! And we are giving "rights" to people who have no rights under our Constitution. It is our money and we the people are the government and we rule ourselves.
Only!

NO!! Go beg your own country for support! I am tired of paying for other people who aren't even contributing to the cause, and saying that we stole their land. I am sorry, but winning a war, then buying the land, and THEN paying off the debts owed to the US GOVT......I think we have rightful claim to this land. Learn the language, and get your citizenship, or leave! If I go to Mexico....will you learn English for me, so I can get around?? NO

well i think once they are here it would be unethical to deny them medical care, just as it would be unethical to to deny them food and water. i believe that we hve right to expect that anybody entering the country illegaly and not a genuine asylum seeker should be returned to the country from which they came a.s.a.p. But do you have problem with diabled people in particular? Why not say 'people who require medical care?'. Not everyone who is disabled requires input from the NHS. disablity is not the same as illness!

NO! WE SHOULD NOT.
The question should be asked: "If I were in your country would they pay all my expenses? Would they also pay my rent? Would they also pay for the upkeep of my wife and children?
Would they pay for my disability - like we fools here do?
Would they pay me unemployment benefits and give me free medical treatment?"
If the answer is `NO,` then we should apply the same rules here. We are a soft touch and the word gets around, in fact, it travels like wildfire: "Go to Gt. Britain, they are idiots and will give you lots of money, a free house, free medical treatment and make sure you don`t have to find a job to keep and feed your children. And you don`t have to pay even one penny back.

In a word, no; but your reasoning for the NHS being overstreched is flawed.
Billions are poured into the NHS, which never reach the "shop floor" making the "fat cats" richer.

we should not cater to anyone who has entered the country illigally, disabled or not. Then that way they may have enough money for those here legally.

If they entered illegally, despite their reasons, we should ship them all off, back to where they came from. It's not exactly difficalt to get here legally now, is it?
