In the current political climate, in which Richard Nixon, and Barry Goldwater would be considered far to the left of center, all media (internet, radio, print and televised) are owned and operated by multibillionares who can label moderate conservatism as radical liberalism, and old pseudo-scientific arguments espousing the genetic inferiority of blacks and poor people are once again gaining credence. What forces, if any are likely to rebalance the equation and restore some compassion and reason to public dialogue?

The media desires to offer up giving those extremists a voice. President Obama is a average; yet human beings keep calling him a socialist and Hitler. The 24-hr cable information networks are attempting to get score with sensationalist new memories, even with the undeniable fact that that's dividing the country. And now with the internet, human beings can get the slant they want.

So evidently you're claiming that CNN, PBS, and NBC are too far right? You're claiming that Clinton, Kennedy and Reid are "moderate conservatives? Are you sure you're not stalin instead of socrates?
Fox is the only news source that lies to the right of center. With huge tax rates and massive government subsidizing, europe is moving ever closer to socialism and some would push for the same here in the US. Yet, you believe we should be pushing further left?

No need to worry about moving the political discussion to the left because those reckless righties are pushing it there. They've pissed off so many people, that even conservatives are questioning them. To get back to the center we need to take a hard left... because it's been too far right for too far long.

Just be patient. G.W. Bush and friends have done more to ensure that the political discussion goes to the left than anyone in recent history. The Democrats will win in 2008, and no one has done more to make sure of this than our current president.
