Because the term of office isn't up yet.
We have presidential elections every 4 years.
Unless he either resigns or is impeached and then thrown out of office, we're stuck with him
I have been vehemently opposed to him since he stole the first election in 2000.
I have never in my entire life hated anyone as much as I hate him and all those who serve him.
He is among the most despicable beings ever to have lived.

He is still able to live out the term granted by the constitution. If we switched presidents by approval rating we would never get anything done!
I'm support the President whomever they are at the time. I may not agree with everything but we're in this mess together. I don't believe the judgment of one man has set the agenda for everything that has gone on these past 6 years. Keeping the focus on him is ignoring the other evils that run rampant throughout the US government. He is just a figure head at best-an icon-I doubt he is smart enough to make all the decisions that are made and to think that he does is a bog mistake on behalf of the American people. The power is dispersed. It is complicated and on many levels. To even think we can understand the immense complexity of what goes on bureaucratically everyday is a reason why they are afforded so much power in the first place. It is simply our ignorance of things. The structure of Power in a society maintains that its citizens will always be somewhat in the dark no matter what efforts we take. If all could be revealed, I'm sure the Truth would blow all of our minds.
Also, I hate war. It is horrible. But honestly, what else can be done? I haven't heard a solid, real response from other countries or the Democratic party. Our enemies are not looking for a diplomatic solution-they made that clear long ago. They don't even have the capabilities to instigate a diplomatic solution. You can't play by the rules with an enemy who has none. Other countries scoff at us, but it could very well happen to your country as well. Sometimes tough love is necessary. Our enemies live in the stone age. In a time where mysticism and religous doctrine dominate reason. We can't have this. No matter which culture you are from you can agree that it is not good for mankind. Since they are not understanding this upon their own merits, we will "help" move them along. Whether they like it or not.
You know, Japan scoffs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki; but if that didn't happen where would they be? Down deep, in the back of every Japanese baby boomer's mind, he is grateful the bomb occured. It's what allows them economic safety; home ownership; progress; a happy society who is wel-off. It gives them McDonalds and Starbucks and a nice life where they can watch their kids grow and become educated and actually be productive in a productive society. If the bomb didn't happen they would be like China, worse for that matter if America didn't rebuild them and get them on track.
Iraq will learn. It will learn when we win. I don't mean "win" in a cowboy macho type of way; but when they can see what it is they don't see now.

Just because the President is not popular does not mean he should step down or resign. Under the laws of our constitution his term does not expire until 2009.
If there is misconduct in his office it's up to Congress to pursue these allegations & force his impeachment.
Personally I do not support the President or his policies, but I respect the democractic process & hope the next elected President will repair the damage done over the past eight years.

Because he was elected by more than 51% of the people to a four-year term in November of 2004.
62,040,606 people thought that he would be a better President than anyone else.
And all Americans--Republican and Democrat--support the Constitution of the United States that says whomever is elected is elected for a four-year-term.
What choice do I have? This man is OUR President. He isn't just the President of those who are "for him" at this moment. He's OUR President.
I like many things he has done. I don't like a few things he has done.
His job has no equal in the world. It is tough. He has to make decisions that can't possibly please everyone. If we wanted someone who had no backbone, and would just do what was popular when the tough decisions had to be made, I'm sure we would have voted differently in 2004. We would have voted for the most spine-less person we could have found. We didn't. We vote for a man that we believed would BEST represent us when tough decisions had to be made.
I'm for him. It isn't a job many could do with as much class as he's shown.
I've been proud of every president we've had (with the possible exception of Martin Van Burean, who was just such a spineless wimp.)
You implied the answer best in your question. He is still running the country. I'm in favor of someone running the country instead of someone who would let the country run them (as in Martin Van Buren's case.)

we don't have a parliamentary system, where he could be voted out when losing popularity. he has a full term from when he last stole the election. because congress will not impeach him, we are stuck with him until his latest stolen term is over or until he develops a conscience and resigns for the good of the country.
in theory, our system should still work with an unpopular president, because congress should act for the will of the people. alas...

You might want to ask "IF only 39% approve of the current congress then why are they still in power".
Just like Bush they have to finish their term before they can be voted out.

The Democrats in congress have an equally low approval rating, should they be removed from office as well?
The answer to both your question and mine is NO. They were elected, and our system of government says they serve their term.

He, just as any other president, has not yet finished his term. We elected him to run things to the best of his ability. Not to win popularity polls.
Election day is the only poll that matters.

It is very unlikely that he will be impeached. The public opinion matters somewhat, but he's not going to be impeached because a lot of people don't approve of him. THat's not the way our government works.
