I borrowed $640.00 to someone and they have not paid it back yet. The only thing I have which acknowledges the debt are two emails...one asking to borrow the first $240 and another that apologized for not yet paying back the $400 and promising to do it soon (which never happened). Also complicating the issue is that the person does not reside in the same state as I do. What can I do?

Please sound off ,, my wife ,, bartender went from making 150 per night to like 25 ,, and they said there would be no difference! If they cared about cigarettes being harmful make them illegal, but no they keep them legal since they bring in SO MUCH TAX MONEY! what is happing to our freedom?

they promised lower gas prices , they are higher !
they promised not to fund the war , they funded it !
they promised no new taxes , then they tried to pass a bill that would allow them to raise taxes without a house or senate vote !

Let me give you an example: economics.

Conservatives believe that by cutting taxes (mostly for the rich), deregulating the economy, and cutting social programs for the working poor, you can increase the rate of growth. This is basically SUPPLY SIDE economics as seen under Reagan and Bush Jr.

Liberals believe that by shifting taxes to those who can most afford it (the rich), creating laws that protect workers, consumers, and citizens from corporate abuse and fraud, and creating programs that help people help themselves (GI BIl, state subsidized universities, job training, etc) we can increase the size of the middle class and create even more growth. This is basically KEYNESIAN economics as seen under FDR, JFK, LBJ, and Clinton.

Who is right? Who has the facts on their side? See for yourself.

Please think about this a little bit before you answer, let the question sink in, and be honest.

For myself, I feel that if I support killing around the world in order to spread democracy, or take out dictators, or because there is oil there and I don't want to pay over $3/gal. someday (wink) or because a country might be a threat someday, or because we need to protect "our interests" around the world, or because I want to make "them" pay (vengence) then I am also a murderer in God's eyes.

I'm not trying to throw daggers or insult anyone. I'm just curious if individuals who hate Bush allow their rage to take over.. Is that why they don't support our troops and the job they're doing?

Children dream about becoming a soldier for their country, would you deny your child that right? The right to dream and have his wishes fulfilled?

Fact: The Iraqi insurgents are terrorists and will not stop their brewing hate for the rest of the world *(unless you're a Muslim)*

Why turn your back on your country, our soldiers? Disagree with the president, that's fine. But disagree. Some of the things that I've seen you guys spit out isn't disagreement, it's pure hatred.

I respect your opinion, return the favor - please, refrain from bashing me.

I live in a state with a high sales tax and expensive smog requirements for my vehicles. I'd like to establish myself in a state with no (or little) smog requirements/sales tax and still work in the state where my job is 'till I retire.

PROVIDENCE, Utah (AP) — Balloons apparently were boring. A young man returning home from a church mission in Mexico found his family's home completely wrapped in newspaper.

"As soon as the headlights hit the house it was like, 'What has happened?'" said Kelly Wigington, the father of Mormon missionary Brian Wigington. "I've never seen anything like this before."

Your government wants the oil in another country. So, the military is sent there to make sure the oil stays secure. Is this "defending your country" or is it "defending your country's vested interest" ? Answers of the type that say, "It's both," will be considered null and deleted.

i sent for it from california,they sent me a paper to get notarized cause it has to be a certified copy, i cant get it notarized cause i dont have id, i lost all my id, thats why i need a birth certificate, so i sent for one from los angeles county, where i was born and they dont have one on record, maybe cause in 1958 im not sure why they dont have it anyways i need to get my id soon as iam going to be starting a job soon and waiting another 4 weeks agin to see if i can have a relative get one sent from sacramento is just to long, i live in arizona now so im not even in ca. but i need my id now.

MISSION, Texas (AP) — Police say the jingle of this ice cream truck meant pot-sickles. Police say elementary school students tipped them off to an ice cream truck driver who was apparently selling $5 and $10 bags of marijuana from the truck. Most customers were in the third, fourth, and fifth grades.

"It's a scary thought, but that's the info we received," Mission police Chief Leo Longoria said.
