They hate us because of this:

and this:

Both multiplied about 50 times, if we consider all the invasions, coups, wars by proxy and civil wars we have financed in the name of "democracy."

I tend to think it could be for a little of both! I hear the term "Foreign Policy" used alot...but very seldom do I hear the what the center of their "grievance" is! Here in Canada...I can ask alot of Canadian's what they don't like about the U.S. I'll get a response like-Y'know...it's their Environmental and Foreign Policy! But yet...if I ask them what those Policie's are, only maybe 1 in 10 can give me any kind of answer! I get alot of Ummm Well? I do not necessarily feel any more or any less freer...than my U.S. counterparts! So it begs to Question why the Severe Islamic element would begrudge the U.S.'s freedoms, other than the fact that our societie's allow for some things...that would go against the grain of their Religious Principle's! But yet, many of these group's...do not seem to have a problem with moving or doing Business here? Sometimes I get alot of really mindless and unintelligent question's by U.S. Custom's Officers, and some action's I have seen...border on outright Racism! But I often wonder if this is a reflection of the Officer's thinking alone...or is it a display of a far greater "ignorance" in the American Psyche? I certainly hope not! Why do these Countrie's slam the U.S. for their Freedom's and Policie's but yet...not the other Nation's who practice simular Ideal's of Policy and Freedom? I really don't know for certain...why this would be the case! Also when I ask the Question about U.S. Foreign and Environmental Policie's...when I point out that alot of the Policie's of the U.S. are not much different than our own-there seems to be a long pause in the conversation? Suddenly they are in a Stalemate situation, and they can seldom-if ever...give me a Final Answer! Thats my take on the whole thing! Maybe someone else has more insight on this?

The hate was coming from a very small groups around the world and it was mostly for our freedoms and how we chose to use them but now they are huge and growing groups who start off hating us for our aggression and because we have killed their brothers and then they go off to train to fight and truly appreciate the hate of how we practice freedom. If you think I am full of it, I heard a story on NPR last week about a survey of Muslims in the middle east and it showed very few older people thinking that suicide bombing are sometimes justified and most young people saying that they are sometimes justified.

Unused to happiness has said all that needs to be said .America England and the west have deliberately made life a living hell for millions in countless countries ,for decades and for however much show they make out of pretending o give aid to suffering countries you can bet your last dollar that its given with so many restrictions and clauses that those countries are paying back for ever more and ITS America who ends up the Richer for it
Even the UK only managed to pay the last instalment for Americas "HELP" in WW2 this year or maybe this was our Governments payment for lying through the back teeth so America could get at the Iraqi oil
Its only Americans who are obsessed with thinking They are the only Free country in the world the only thing your free to do that most of us can`t is carry guns around and shoot each other At least we arn`t looked on as traitors for questioning our governments policies and if were convicted of a crime we didn't`t do at least we din`t get the death sentence for it and we can be released .you lot are nowhere near as free as you like to think .

It's a 70/30 split. It's mainly our policies, but many of our freedoms, actually it would be more accurate to say "cultural norms", do offend them.

They hate us, because after H. W. Bush, went to the aid of an Arab State, he promised to remove all American Forces from the Muslim holyland.

Then for some reason, the new President, decided, nope, I wanna keep American Forces in the Muslim holyland.

And we wonder why they didn't like that ??

Depends on who specificlly you are talking about hating us. It could even be both. They don't want us involved in their business, but even if we weren't there, we still have things they don't so there could be jealousy or there are freedoms that they think people shouldn't have (ie the limitations of Sharia law) and they think us infadels that should be wiped off the earth.
Take your pick.
