I am just curious because all the cars that get great mileage are ugly. Not to mention US autmakers are dragging their heels when it comes to producing hybrids, they are still making muscle cars!?!? Gas will be $5 a gallon in 2 years. It does not make any sense to me!

[ Forgave me for this little rant. Some of what I say may be wrong ] I know we cannot but there is something magnificent to look and see soldiers lined up with gleaming shields and swords marching and racing into battle. Compare that to today's battles. Battles back then were win through strategies and strength. Nowadays anybody with a nuclear missle or bomb is a national threat. It seems and is crazy. Entire countries destroyed by one bomb the size of a small car. There is barely any face to face combat. One good shot and you are dead. It is better for the leader to battle on the front line with his army than at a desk planning a attack without every being there. There is no longer clashing of swords but of shooting of ammo and the ping of missed shots.

I see everyone one tv bashing Bush, the war, and America. Have we forgotten why we are fighting? Have we forgotten we have brothers and sisters over there dying? God gave us the strengh to fight for those who can't. I know I haven't forgotten.... Have you?

'Have You Forgotten"
by Darryl Worrley

I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Cheney is always talking about the need for continued troop deployments to Iraq; then the White House today talking about cutting number of troops in Iraq by at least a third by next year. Condi, underscoring the "war on terror" but keeping the door open regarding the always vacillating ideas coming from both men.
It happens often. In fact it has happened several times in the past.
Humm
shall we look at such behavior as some kind of tactic to keep the public as confused as they seem to be?

of a civil war? I mean really all they are is talk, no action. Do you think they have ever considered the possibility that many Americans will say enough, let the revolution begin?

Nah, I don't think they are smart enough to realize the danger they have put the country in, much less themselves.

Telling the truth to both the American public and themselves are weak points in the thinking of top Republican political figures. They have been intentionally dishonest with the voting public and intellectually dishonest with themselves on almost every aspect of the Iraq War.

The failed policies of the Bush Republicans have turned the Iraqi people against American occupation by huge margins. In the past year, the American public has moved rapidly in the same direction. The Republicans have placed ideologically based worldview over reality based policies on almost every issue. In the Iraq context, the results have been a complete disaster to American interests.

Tying the Iraq conflict to the so-called “War on Terror” is dishonest. Iraq under Saddam Hussein did not help conduct the 9-11 terrorist attacks on America. Terror is an emotion and not a political movement or a military force. It is impossible to launch a war against an emotion. The war slogan was design to create
