If it is based on this definition of terrorism then the US would be a terrorist. Who creates these definitions?

From a poster here at yahoo:

terrorist (noun)
a person who tries to frighten people or governments into doing what he/she wants by using or threatening violence

There is a major issue at my place of work regarding scheduling. I do not typically receive my schedule for any given week (Sunday-Saturday) until the Friday before the week starts. Thus, I only have one day of notice as to when I work on any Sunday. Surely there must be some sort of labor law that dictates how far in advance employees are supposed to post schedules for part-time employees with variable shifts. I have tried searching online, but haven't been able to find any information. I live in Oregon, if it's any help.

I'm referring for a visitor's visa in Japan. The forms which I saw from Japan embassy seemed limited to some relatives of a pilipino wife of japanese national. I really appreciate all those who responded to my question, however, it seemed that they misinterpreted the premise of my previous question. I am asking for the degree of relations, that can be allowed the privilege of a visitors visa.

A leader when provoked, responded in the same way and got caught by the leadership and got suspended along with the person who provoked. Is it justifiable? If the provoker and the provoked are equal in commiting the crime , the above statement is wrong. This has contemporary relevance.

You always see in movies people placing their hand on a bible and swearing to tell the truth before taking the witness stand...
but what if they're an Atheist? I'm assuming that with other religions they will place their hands on the corresponding holy book.
So what does an Atheist swear on before testifying in court?

I've always wanted to show my appreciation for the military by writing, but I never know what to say. Most times they can't write back, so I'm not sure what is appropriate. Any advice?

I know the illegals cannot vote. But my father came here legally from overseas, became a citizen. But he was not against his old country. He still had very passionate feelings about it, and the people there. So, by giving amnesty to the illegals are they pinning their hopes on buying the vote from all the Mexican citizens here who can vote? They have pride in their heritage, and I don't begrudge them that. I have pride in my heritage too. But my theory is, that by allowing amnesty to people who share that heritage, they will sew up the Mexican vote in America.
Any thoughts on this? I mean, there must be a payoff for allowing 20 million people amnesty who came here by breaking the laws of this country.
Before everyone says that the news is saying 12 million, that is a rather light estimate. I get mine from the counters here.

Thank you for any insightful opinions on my theory.

I'm just a little upset, because, just before midnight on friday night I was pulling out of my street and I had my windows down. I heard a sound like someone comming at me and I let off the gas and froze for a sec.; I just couldn't believe someone would be comming at me so quick. When I saw the car I sped up. It just barely missed me doing 70 mph in a 40 mph zone. As he went passed and I turned to see I saw lights on top of the car (not on or flashing, just there). It was a cop! I couldn't believe a police officer almost hit my car, possibly injuring or killing myself or my girlfriend who was in the passenger seat!

Maybe you have to have a chemical in your system to understand his plan for America. Maybe if I smoke till I pass out, I will vote Republican

I am considering a position in the Air Force Reserves as a Aircrew Life Support. I am wnating to join the reserves, finish college, and try to become an enlisted officer... my recruiter tells me that I can cross train after I go active duty.

Basically, I have been told what Aircrew Life Support does, but I want to hear from other people what they know the job does before I decide. is it a good job, fun, all of that? Or, is it an easy job, basically what do you know?

Thanks!

When the choice presented to the voters is a douchebag (Bush) and a $hit sandwich (Kerry) and no third party candidate is even invited to the debates, is there really democracy in the US - or is it really just a Democraplican cartel?

How exactly does fighting them over there keep them over there? Physically, how does that work? No one has explained that ever.

Why don't they come here and fight us here right now too? Wouldn't an America in chaos... dealing with multiple bombings every day like in Iraq... serve them better? There are plenty of Americans to fight here, in fact, there are millions that they could fight over here right now. When in history has it happened that they follow an army home?

I think that the Puppy Dog theory is just one of the lies made up to keep us there for Israel's safety and to put money in the pockets of Big Oil and the big defense contractors.

When you answer this, why not try some logic instead of just mimicing what the government keeps pounding into your head... please think about it a little bit before answering... its not about attitude, its about truth.

My question is why is it they don't send you a certified letter to tell you that you need to have your insurance monitored for a year. They just mail out a letter and hopefully you get it. Because if you don't, your liscence is suspended, without notification. And you get thrown in jail, like you commited a murder. How do you go about changing the law to where they HAVE to send you a certified letter.
