It was a stupid seat belt violation. Ive never had a ticket before, I got pulled over once but it was a minor thing during New Years downtown sacramento and no citation was written up. How much do you think the ticket will be? Should I go to court? Im a paramedic student and I really just need this to go away. Any info would help thanks.

I took my first (and only) ticket to court, and it worked out well. It was a speeding violation. I plead guilty, with no excuse, and the judge gave me a Parole Before Judgment or something along those lines. It meant that I didn't get any points added to my license, and the judge reduced the ticket fee by $25.

Just tell her that you realize that you messed up, you're glad that you learned your lesson without hurting yourself or others in the process, and you'll never do it again. You are a paramedic student, and this was your first offense, and you've learned your lesson. Chances are, the judge will let you off the hook a little bit.

Besides, there's a chance that the cop won't even show up, in which case you get off completely free. And even if your day in court is unsuccessful, you'll get firsthand knowledge of the workings of the legal system. Hurrah!

Not sure if you can attend Traffic School for a seat belt ticket. If it is an option, you should really attend for two reasons; the ticket/points won't be counted against your insurance and it will show that you understand the importance and purpose of the seat belt and just aren't "buying it away" . I'm unsure what the fine amount is. See if traffic school will be an option - it is usually one Saturday. Because of the background checks conducted in your profession when seeking employment, I would suggest you really pay attention to the seat belt law. A law enforcement neighbor of Sac to. Good luck...

If you got traffick ticket first time, normally court fines minimum amount it is about 5-10 dollers +15 as dollers service tax when you plead guilty.but record will be with ministry for 2 years, If you want to challenge the ticket consult any para legal instead of lawyer for lower fee. they will charge normally 100-150 for your case.

I believe you can take defensive driving and get it off your record. But, you can only do that once in a certain amount of time. I recommend you just pay it. Even if someone sees it on your record its only a seat belt violation not really a big deal. I would save your "free pass" (defensive driving) on a speeding ticket or something like that. goodluck!
