My question is why is it they don't send you a certified letter to tell you that you need to have your insurance monitored for a year. They just mail out a letter and hopefully you get it. Because if you don't, your liscence is suspended, without notification. And you get thrown in jail, like you commited a murder. How do you go about changing the law to where they HAVE to send you a certified letter.

I just want to know why the state can't take a little bit of precious time to send a certified letter. I have complied with the law and ALL they asked of me. Why can't they do what I ask of them?? The state works for us not the other way around. And should you pay for a mistake for the rest of your life? Even hardened criminals get a second chance.

And I have not moved in the last 6 years. My address has been the same for that long. But I didn't receive a letter.

Everyone is under the law to inform their address have change, if you wish to change the law, howabout writing in to the local governor to seek his approval which he is unlikely to give.

It it YOUR responsibility to keep the ins co supplied with your current and correct address. Why is it, when you cannot accept such a simple responsibility, someone has to change the law to suit you??

Because you are required to have your current address on file with the state DMV. If you move, you must update them.
