For all of you who come on here to attack the police, your ignorance is showing. Go out for a night, learn what they do, then come back here and give us your insight. But please do answer thequestion. Have you done the job? Have you gone on a ride along?

Arrestedamilliontimes. I think you have, what they refer to in the business, many negative contacts. Why don't you try to be good and not get arrested in the first place? You seem to be proud of your arrest record. I bet you are not exactly the nicest to the police when you get arrested are you?
Snoop Dogg, once again you did not answer the question. Why do you avoid discourse so? I am not sure I understood your reply, the grammer was too poor. I guess your English is as clean as your record as well. Instead of grandstanding why don't you stick to the issue and make a coherent point.
You two are the problem.

Excellent question! I was taught as a child that you should never judge someone until you have walked in their shoes. There was a time that I was somewhat anti-police. I could not understand why they acted as they did. But instead of hiding behind a computer and complaining, I became one with the intentions of making a "difference"; not only in the community, but in the department.
But something amazing happened. I begin to see why the police were like they were. I saw the picture from both sides. I experienced firsthand what those police officers that I disliked so much faced on a daily basis. It was a life changing experience. I once thought that most police officers were corrupt. I was ignorant. After becoming one, I saw the opposite. I once thought police were arrogant jerks. After becoming one, I understood why they acted like they did.
Arrestedamilliontimes stated that police are the ones that can't relate to criminals. That is not true. We face some of the same decisions every day that everyone else faces; whether to do right or wrong. We chose this path, you obviously chose a different route. We are human just like you. We were not born a cop, just like you were not born a criminal.

The police are the ones who never try to understand other people. They have never been in the shoes of an arrested person. When have they been told that they're gonna be raped by bubba? When have they had to fill out a job application and list convictions? When have they been glared at from behind plexiglass? NEVER. This makes a lot of them total jerks.
On the other hand, most of us all know what it is like to be around dangerous or aggravating people, so we can all relate to the police a little bit. We all eventually figure out that the media is overwhelmingly liberal, and stupidly anti-cop.
What, did you just write this question so you could get your tummy rubbed? Not gonna happen.

My husband is a police officer and I am a dispatcher. These jobs are a lot harder and involve more stress than people think. You have to be prepared because you never know if this call might be your last or if you are sending someone to there death.

i think before you get a driver's license you should have to do a ride along for a day it would change everyone's attitude about our job.
