Go to the V.F.W or even the vet affairs.

Try:
www.Military.com or www.Army.com

If your dad has the units name, Military.com has many Home Pages for units that were stationed in Vietnam like 1st Cav, Big Red 1, 2ND ACR, MACV and ARVON units.

Another place to check is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall website which lists all veterans who died in the conflict and their unit.

Good Luck Dad.

i found my husbands company by googling it. they have their own site as do many of the other units that served. they all post pics of the soldiers during their service and message boards where he can inquire about his buddy. i'm sure your dad knows his unit's name. type it in and see what comes up.

you could try a search engine, that is one of the best ways, or if there is a site for that try and find it, and that site should have pics
