Today I just give 350.00 for state police. then tomorrow local police call for 250.00. Then fire dept calls, FBI calls for support. I am running a small business. Sometimes, I don't give them the support because I don't feel it right. They get mad and slamp the phone. I am not sure if they are doing the right thing. Because we are all paying taxes.

All council meetings are open to the public. Item two on the agenda permits any member of the public to speak on any subject, (chairmans discretion, usually 3mins but could be five) That is stated on their published leaflet. Item two was overlooked, (being the good boy, I could not intervene) Meeting closed, when I questioned why members of the public were not permitted to speak, the mayor proclaimed, "it is the law".
Now is that statement correct, in view of the fact that we are in the election month, if it is where is the law on it?

Can America "see" the real truth? The surge is not working. One only has to look at history ( Vietnam war " ) to see the surge didn't work there. ( We had over 500,000 troops in Vietnam ) Once again we will go down in shame.

200 plus rounds of ammo discharged over a 3hr period, with a handgun??
After listening to you Americans wa*k on about protecting your 'stupid' gun laws and the need to be armed to protect etc.....what good is all that 'hooprah' if an untrained 'student' of all things can wreak that much havoc for so long and virtually unchecked?
This is not a shot at Americans valour as the taking down of the flight in Washington(!?) during 9/11 is an inspiring story of courage.
Your thoughts please America?

This is no joke. There will be some demonstrations in Washington D.C. in front of the White House on Monday to encourage President Bush to declare war on South Korea because of what Seung-Hui Cho did to the innocent students at Virginia Tech.

President Bush has not yet spoken, but (surprisingly) some members of Congress are backing it. I couldn't find the link, but CNN reported it earlier this afternoon.

Plus, if we take care of SOUTH Korea, our mission against NORTH Korea will be far easier. I totally support the war and our troops!

Please become my contact and give this questions a star if you found it interesting!

We swam in shame over Vietnam and now we will swim in shame and eat crow once again over the illegal war in Iraq. Will the all knowing and all powerful USA government ever learn a permanent lesson to "mind its own business"?

OK, I am from Baltimore City. It is not illegal to own a dirt bike, but it is illegal to ride one on city streets, or city parks. The little boy was sitting on a brand new dirt bike his mom bought him. He was sitting on the sidewalk on the front of his house. The police then grabbed him off of the bike, and took him to Central Bookings, one of the worst places to be in Baltimore, even for a criminal.

Today on the news the Police commissioner stated that they completely followed the procedures when it came to the child and they did nothing wrong.

Now, I cant see why they didn't just have some compassion for the child and leave him alone. The motor was not turned on, and he was on his property. Am I wrong for being on the child's side?

If so, why? How old are you and what part of the world do you live in? Be specific (New York, California, etc.)

Have you always been a liberal? If not, when did you start to become one?

The same question goes for conservatives. How long have you been one, where do you live, and why are you a conservative?

Thank you for your answers.

Wal-Mart Avoiding $2.3 Billion in State Income Taxes
New Report by CTJ and Change to Win

Wal-Mart appears to be skipping out on its fair share of the taxes that most Americans have to pay to help support state governments. A new report released by Citizens for Tax Justice and Change to Win reveals that Wal-Mart avoided $2.3 billion in state income taxes, cutting its payment to state governments almost in half between 1999 and 2005.

Only one state, Wisconsin, discloses the taxes that corporations pay annually. The data from Wisconsin provide insight into how other states are individually hurt by Wal-Mart's $2.3 billion in tax avoidance over the past seven years.

Wisconsin is actually a state that does not require ";combined reporting" of corporate profits for state tax purposes. This facilitates corporate tax shelters by large multi-state companies like Wal-Mart that involve accounting tricks to shift profits between subsidiaries (on pap

I've heard quite a few argue against conservation and the use of alternative energy, but why do you want to use oil considering the downsides of it's continued use?

If there was an alternative just as cheap that we didn't have to go to war to secure, wouldn't you rather do that?
