Some one I know was brought here when she was 2 yrs old from a different country. She grew up here and went to school here. She never gave it a second thought that she was illigal and was not allowed to be in this country until she graduated and wanted to go to college. She speaks english better than she does her native language and most of her friends are wite. If you saw her you wouldnt even tell the difference in nationality. Now she wants to go to college and get a decent job legally but she can't cause she's here illegally! She has grown up following the rules here and now she's afraid that she will get kicked out to her native country. A country she knows nothing about. She can't even speak their language. She has spoken with lawyers to try and get legal here and do things right but they keep telling her that there is nothing they can do for her right now. That unless U.S immigration law change than she's stuck where she's at. It seems so unfair that she has to go through this.

What is your opinion on the legal standard of "the reasonable person"- is it fair to hold everyone to such a standard? Can you see any flaws?

I can understand no firearms, but the right to petition and freedom of speech??? This is the free country, yet just because somebody chose the random age of 18, we can't do the same things somebody who passed a test to become an American, who can also go and buy guns and other questionable items while we are legally stuck in school for over 10 years that those immigrants never had, and yet they still have more rights that native students who may even understand the culture and laws better than they. Is that right???

Should basic politics be covered as part of the school timetable?

Many schools offer 'Modern Studies' which cover the basis of goverment and political parties but there are more that don't due to lack of teachers or interest.

Education will play a key part but I feel a lot has to come from within the home. I grew up in a normal working family where watching the news and discussing current issues were part of daily life - shoud we get families back round the dinner table and talking?

What can be done to ensure people realise the importance of voting and the struggles that our people have been through to ensure that right?

Like gun rights...

Liberals say "Look at Europe, they dont have guns and their crime rate is lower"

Aside from this being flat-out wrong (European crime rates are actually higher), so what?

Rural America has virtually NO crime and gun ownership is very prevalent.

So why do liberals choose to side with the French over their fellow citizens? Oh...because they hate so-called "rednecks"?

I want real answers not crap about how you may not like it. I want to know how your life would be sooo horrible if a gay couple were to get married. We have 1,000's of years of history of men being gay or having sex with eachother, the Greeks and Romans for example, recognized gay marraiges.

That;s right! While president, Bill Clinton signed executive orders signing our national parks over to the control of the United Nations. For all you Democrap nay-sayers, educate yourselves instead of attacking me. I posted this last night and all of the liberal leftist's called it a lie...see for yourselves that Clinton actually did this.

Nearly 70% of global currency reserves are now held by developing countries. The irony is that the three countries in the world adding reserves the fastest, and thus buying the most U.S. debt now are China, Saudi Arabia, and Russia — none of them democracies. Venezuela and Iran — two countries seeking to undermine the U.S. are close behind.

Our military is as weak as it has ever been.Do you think a draft is the only solution to build up the military.Surely their arent many that are willing to go into the military because of the lack of leadership in the Bush Administration. So is the Defense department gonna start the draft again? To me it seems like its getting to be more realistic every day Bush stays the course.
