I want real answers not crap about how you may not like it. I want to know how your life would be sooo horrible if a gay couple were to get married. We have 1,000's of years of history of men being gay or having sex with eachother, the Greeks and Romans for example, recognized gay marraiges.

P.S. I support it, just want to know why people are so close minded about it.

It brings committed families to my neighborhood.
It means the children in my town have (at least) two parents who love them.
It encourages all of my neighbors to plant nice flowers and mow their lawns, in order to keep up with the (John & Mike) Joneses.
It discourages promiscuity, which makes my city that much more civilized.
I makes my coworkers more pleasant to work with, as they have love at home, just like I do.
It means that my friends all have medical insurance, so they can maintain good health.
That's how gay marriage would personally effect me...I'm sure there are more ways that I would feel the impact of it, if you want me to come up with some...
Um, I guess I have to ask...for SteveE...Why does anyone care what the name of the "civil union" is? How on earth can it possibly matter to call it a marriage? That's what it is, after all...it's not a business contract, but a life commitment, just like the rest of us have been doing for thousands of years...I don't get it.

It doesn't. I'm straight and will be married next year.
No gay person is going to decide whether me and my gal make it or not, that can only be determined by our efforts towards each other, so I'm not going to make decisions for gay folks.
I think many straight folks get offended for fear that gay folks just might do a better job than them. I mean, the divorce rate is over 50% in America. That's an 'F' and so, maybe if they actually worked harder on there own relationships, they wouldn't find the time to bash someone else's.

I'm now not certain approximately the higher aspect. It could simplify matters like inheritance and clinical choices. It will cut back earnings tax charges. Better for households despite the fact that? I do not consider it makes a change in some way.

It won't, it hasn't, and it never will. After all the talk about how gay marriage will just ruin the sanctity of marriage, I haven't heard about one straight couple getting divorced or deciding not to get married because gay couples are marryiing in Massachusetts. Their arguments are incredibly self-serving and beyond lame as far as I'm concerned. I'm so tired of the hypocritical moral police.
Hey Moche! I've had my *** grabbed too from behind by a idiot college kid who barely escaped getting his smart aleck butt whipped by my husband. That affected me too, but I don't think that college kids shouldn't be able to get married. DUH! There are ignorant people everywhere, straight and gay.

As long as people, gay or straight, do not involve me in their marriages or love life I am fine with it. I have much more important things to worry about. I don't favor gay marriage but if they want to do it why should I care? It is their life.
We could use a ton less butting into other people's lives in this country.

Doesn't at all. I just think the term marriage is reserved for the union of one man and one female. I am all for same sex unions and they are entitled to the same rights as married people. I just don't think the term marriage should be hi-jacked for political reasons.

It doesn't, although I would be very interested in watching a Gay Divorce Court television show.

The same way polygamy and adult incest would.
I have posted on this issue many, many times.
