By aid helicopters I mean helicopters that fly with food and supplies. Humanitarian mission helicopters might be a better term.

Well, for the US Military our helicopters aren't DESIGNATED for "humanitarian missions"... Cargo Helo's all have a "C" designation CH-46(600+), CH-47(1000+), CH-53 (~115).

The CH-47 is exclusively Army, and therefore the Army would have the "most" medium to heavy lift helicopters.

However, the CH-46's CH-53's of the US Marine Corps and Navy are most LIKELY to be used in humanitarian missions since they are deployed shipboard and are going to be at a disaster site FIRST.

The UH-60L, SH-60B and SH-60F can also be loaded with cargo... Again, the Navy's Seahawks will be there first.

In June of 1991, Navy and Marine helicopters evacuated people from the area of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines... and I learned that the SH-60B can carry a family of 8, four pigs and two goats... in addition to the crew of 3.

The Army. Every Division has at least one Aviation Brigade. None of the other branches even come close to having the same amount, perhaps combined but not even then.

All Helo's have the capacity for delivering aide. It depends on what the mission is.
