THe shooter was not a citizen of the U.S.Of A. He had chosen to remain a citizen of Korea so he should NOT be able to buy carry or have in his possession a fire arm of any description. No matter how long he lives in the US no citizenship, NO GUNS>>>> what do you think ?

I agree with you! I suggest contacting your local NRA rep...but get ready to be called a "Dirty Liberal Left Wing Nut" if you even mention not allowing guns to anyone who isn't a felon or deemed mentally unstable by the courts.
BTW, I'm not for gun control but some common sense wouldn't hurt, such as addressing your question. Addressing it aside from the VT crime for lack of a better word. I'm not of the thought it wouldn't have happened necessarily but just across the board policy. I think the word control scares everyone but maybe common sense policy should be called protections...protections from the standpoint of us, the U.S citizens.
When people snap they snap and firearms are the easiest way for their DEMENTED payback to society. In a nutshell it is one of the very high costs for our freedom.

I'm a pro gun, retired cop, Viet Nam Vet and a NRA member. I have often asked this very same question. I also ask "Why wasn't the fact that he had been in a mental hospital as a danger to himself and others, entered into the "Instant Back Ground Check" data base. If this is to be confidential medical information. The the Federal Gun purchase form 4473 should include a waver. If a person refuses to sign the waver....NO GUN. This is gun control I can agree with!

Legal permanent residents of the U.S.A. enjoy virtually the same rights are those born here. There are few exceptions like running for President.

No one will ever pry the gun or the car keys from the hands of Americans. For better or worse it is our culture and even the recent terrible act at Virginia Tech will not change that fact.

You cannot discriminate based on country of origin. A person who is a legal permanent resident has all the rights a citizen has, except for the right to vote. It's the law.

Because the NRA and all their conservative right wing supporters want it that way. This is a major platform of the Republican Party.
