Like gun rights...

Liberals say "Look at Europe, they dont have guns and their crime rate is lower"

Aside from this being flat-out wrong (European crime rates are actually higher), so what?

Rural America has virtually NO crime and gun ownership is very prevalent.

So why do liberals choose to side with the French over their fellow citizens? Oh...because they hate so-called "rednecks"?

Here are Interpol 2001 crime statistics (rate per 100,000):

4161 - US
7736 - Germany
6941 - France
9927 - England and Wales

Thus the US has a substantially lower crime rate than the major European countries!

Because they hate capitalism, hate Republicans, hate George Bush, hate freedom of speech, except for themselves (Columbia, and American Universtites), hate the second amendment, the right to bare arms, the choice to choose your doctor, the right to be free from government control of the people. They don't listen (Columbia, and American Universities) to others, they want the government to support them, welfare, CPS, they want Socialism. I don't think they know or care about American history, or that when, or if, a Socialist government takes over of the United States, (Hillary Clinton), they're going to have to sit down and shut-up, because Old Hills will tell them, to. YOU WON"T HAVE A VOICE ANYMORE, Libs, because you will have voted in a Socialist, who wants it her way, not yours! You will be quiet, or else punished for speaking your mind! YOU LOSE!

First, the US is predominantly urban and suburban, so what happens in and around cities sort of matters more to more people.

Second, European murder rates and rates of crimes committed with guns are absolutely, positively, unquestionably, unassailably lower than similar rates in the U.S. Period.

If you want to make an argument for your side, let me help you out. Canada has more guns BY FAR per capita than the U.S. - yet their crime-with-guns rate is almost non-existent.

However, if you use that as the basis for your view, you then have to ask: What is the major social malfunction in the U.S. that causes gun-related crime to be so much higher than that of Canada (or, yes, of Europe)?

Rural America has virtually NO crime and gun ownership is very prevalent.

Thats a flat out right lie, they pouch, steal cattle, outboard motors, guns, rape, robberies, sell dope, drink beer & drive, murder and so many other crimes just like in big cities. Yes the ratio per population is deferent in actual numbers but constricts to the same.

I'm from Rural America, don't make me post all the local news papers to prove it

You're saying overall crime rates?? That's what I'm reading. This means that your report includes murder? Here's the comparable murder rates for U.S versus European countries and Canada. We lead by a very wide margin.

Rural America has high crime too. Ever heard of Meth? It's hugely prevailant in rural America and it is one of the leading causes of crime there. Your entire post is ignorant of the facts.

have you ever been out to rural America?

there's crime... but it may not always be reported... often times, we take care of the problems ourselves...

but, moving on... some places in europe have crime problems, granted... but they have much fewer gun related crimes... from what I have seen... and from what your source notes...

and it says pretty clearly in your source, that you cite... that the stats are VERY variable from nation to nation. .. and that nations could crimes in different ways... so it's very hard to compare them...

like one nation may call selling drugs a major crime, while one nation doesn't... it all depends on how you count it...

Aside from gun issues, nobody is right all the time. Most people don't listen to or agree with their parents all of the time, which proves my point. YOu have to listen to many sides in order to formulate an articulate opinion. Otherwise, its just black and white, like the days of the old west.

While rural America has little crime, that's only with guns. They have the highest rates of rape and incest.

Europe has far less murderers and that's a fact! England had 9 gun murders last year. That is not a typo.

America appx. 15,000 gun murders. England 9 gun murders. Hummm.

I'm not sure where you got your info from, but find a new source.

EDIT-you have no source saying their "crime" rates is actually higher.

Japan has almost no gun crime and you can only own shotguns AND must pass rigorous testing.
