With the presidential elections coming up, do you think Hilary has a chance @ becoming the FIRST female president? Do you think more women will be empowered to run for president and other male dominated positions? Do you believe this country is still predominantly male dominant (although there are "equal" rights)?

A Female President would be hell on us all.

They are extremely sexist.

I don't know where you are living but I'm in South Florida and there aren't any equal rights here. For pete's sake women, we are in the majority. Let's just stand up together put Hillary in office and watch her do a great job. And understand this, this woman has been wanting to be president since she could walk and talk. It is in her blood and she would do a fantastic job - its just a matter of the voters giving her a chance --- no wait -- we gave the vote to Mr. Gore and that wasn't enough -- so maybe I am wrong - I don't know how to get someone in office - have Daddy's friends steal you an election? Does Hillary have a big enough family? hmmmmmm

Yes, eventually. Will Hillary become the first female president? Doubtful, judging by the rest of these answers. I think there is a rather unfortunate mindset that only a man can run the country efficiently. I think this because the majority in this country actually is women. I don't think that no woman has been elected for lack of a good candidate either.

Americans don't realize it yet, but a woman can run a country, as proven by the number of women that have been successful running other countries. I was reading another similar question and many people, including women, think a female president wouldn't have the temperment to run a country. That is why we don't have a female president yet.

Out of those 3 years interior the senate,he's barely spent some thing like 240 days definitely working(something have been campaigning) The equivalent to him as President is a 5 300 and sixty 5 days previous infant starting to be to be CEO of a significant employer.

I do think Hillary has an excellent chance at winning the Presidency. She will most likely win the nomination, and hopefully choose Obama as her VP. I think that there are more progressive people than we tend to believe in this country. The country is still predominantly male dominant but it is less pervasive than it ever has been in our history. Other countries around the world are used to having women leaders. Google women world leaders and check out the number of them from the past and present - it's amazing. I think as progressive as the U.S. is, it is behind in this area.

I got a whole different picture than what I previously believed when I attended a New Year's party this year full of macho brick masons and I sat back to listen to them talk politics. I almost fell out of my chair at how many of them said they would vote for Sen. Clinton. It was the last thing I expected from this group - they aren't exactly your typical believers in women's equality. I know, I've been married to one for 15 years and spent a lot of time around these men. I've seen a large amount of men on this site proclaim for her as well. I think the tide is turning, but we'll shortly be finding out for sure if that's true.

EDIT: YA is not the best place to judge Hillary's election chances. The Hillary Haters flock to these questions like pigeons to put in their two cents about how she has no chance. I think they think if they say it often enough it will make it true. Funny, her poll numbers and contributions say differently.

Probably not anytime soon. Last december the president signed a presidential order in dec 06 that will allow him to institute marshall law in cases of civil unrest or natural disater.
Watch for something to happen later this year or early next that will allow him to do that. When that happens all rights are suspended as well as elections and the US becomes a dictatorship..

Its only a matter of time. Unfortunately the good old boys clubs have to much invested in the status quo. For the record – I don’t think Hillary has a chance unless something fantastic happens in the next year. Not because she is a woman (or so they say), but because she personally is so negative.

NO one likes a negative person to hang around with.

I can think of several women I would vote for as president today!

She is not the first female to try, Geraldine Ferraro was the first as a VP. However, the first potential is Nancy Palosi who is speaker of the house or second in line of succession.

I would love to see Hilary win and I plan to help in her campaign. That is what it is going to take, not voting or sending money, but gathering the votes!

And the States are long over due for a woman to lead, Many of the greatest world leaders have been/are women.

There are many areas where woman have superior rights to men (most notably in child custody cases), regardless of whether that's right or not.

As far as a woman chief executive, I haven't seen one that I would vote for. The ones you typically see pushed forward are power-mad lunatics like Hilary Clinton.
