i assume your meaning insurance as in health insurance. Once you are married...then all he has to do is add you onto "DEERS" (thats what it is in the army anyways) and then go to the tricare office and add you onto tricare. You get coverage for everything! Its not hard to do at all. Just a bunch of paperwork like always with the military! haha good luck!

Are you talking Health insurance or Life insurance? Either way, you're his Wife now and you should be included automatically on both. If you have a valid Military ID card, then you should be able to go to the base hospital for care.
He probably should fill out a form to make you beneficiary on his life insurance, but you are next of kin unless he says different. See your base family assistance program for more info.

Go to DEERS and get an ID card. This will automatically sign you up for life insurance. There is a premium for it, and they automatically deduct it from his paycheck. If you don't want the life insurance, you have to notify them in writing. When you leave DEERS, ask for the form to take to TriCare, and then you can sign up for health insurance. TriCare is free, so there is no premium to pay.
Also, he will need to go with you to DEERS unless you have a specific power of attorney enabling you to enroll his dependants. TriCare may need a power of attorney as well.

you have a real subject. If the existence insurance replaced into no longer interior the unique decree, you likely won't have the capacity to pass back and alter it now that he's lifeless. the defense force stuff is complicated even with the undeniable fact that, and that i've got considered some circumstances the place they have presented back advantages yet in very distinctive circumstances from this.. it incredibly is nicely worth speaking to a lawyer who incredibly incredibly is acquainted with those products. you may regularly discover one in a city with a base, seem for somebody who was a defense force lawyer.

Seems like you two need to talk. You shouldn't have to worry about any of this stuff, he should already know what to do.
Anyway.....he needs to take a cerified copy of your marriage certificate to his personnel office. He needs to add you to his Page 2 which will then enter you into DEERS. He will need to complete a DEERS application for you in order for you to be put into the TRICARE medical system.
He will need to either take you to personnel or have ALL of your personal information like your complete name - first, middle and maiden name. Your social security number. The complete name, address and phone number of YOUR next of kin. He is not your next of kin, this would be your parents.
With all of this information then he can also get you an ID card application so you can get an ID card.

For health insurance he needs to enter you into DEERS and they will take you through the process.
For his life insurance he needs to go to PSD and get his page 2 updated.

this is a good question:
however this is a question that you should be asking his chain of command. if he doesnt ask them then you will have to take charge and ask yourself. if he has a good squad leader or whatever they call them in the navy you will be squared away before the end of next week.

once he enters you into DEERS, you are automatically on Tricare Standard. you must enroll into Prime. if you keep your current medical insuarnce, Tricare will always pay second.
You can enroll into Prime at any military medical facility once you have your ID card.
