Can America "see" the real truth? The surge is not working. One only has to look at history ( Vietnam war " ) to see the surge didn't work there. ( We had over 500,000 troops in Vietnam ) Once again we will go down in shame.

Who says the war is not working in Iraq.
I think unless you are there and have the facts it is hard to say.don't you think.
I don't see that America went down in shame as you say.
If the Vietnamese people who wanted their freedom had been patient and fought alongside of the Americans it may have had a different outcome.

death counts overall have went down the only attacks have been by single people ready to die for their cause which is hard to stop but not much of a long term plan is it?
troops surge was meant to lock down areas and stop the possibility of an all out war between militias there is little or no fighting between large groups its single people running into a group
and what was the alternative? stop and wait doing nothing that we knew wasn't working? every day we are there more Iraq army and police are trained if we can provide enough security to them to let them do their job we can get out
and whats the alternative talk to Iran? ask them kindly to please stop pushing weapons and bombs over? give that Shiite majority now the power to oppress the Sunni's who produced Saddam? the surge is working the al sadhr puppets have pulled out which is a start you dont have 1 person controlling 6 seats in the equivalent to our senate
the major people opposing us have went into hiding work is being done
what did you expect a drop to 0 violent deaths? look how many LA has in a day no one cares about that number why care about someone 3000 miles away?
and as far as concern over American troops less than 1% of the population is a "direct relation" to a person in the armed forces nice to know you are concerned about more people you don't know (although i do appreciate it) seeing it used against our goal doest help
whether it works or not we have yet to see but everything is moving along faster walls being built more checkpoints more security around training areas its much better than sitting back for another 6 months watching and if it doesn't what did you personally lose? the equivalent to maybe a grant given to bail out another bankrupt airline or Amtrak or another waste

i think of in some factors the surge has worked in quelling the violence. yet i think what the multiple communities are particularly doing is laying low till the united statespulls out lots of the troops under in spite of latest administration takes over in 2009. Then all, you be attentive to what, will wreck out.

The death rate is down 30% from last year and in 2006, the death rate per 1,000 was already half of that of Germany and Italy.

I say shoot the peace keepers..people like you and your family too..let the chief do his thing support him to the end..even if he is a dick head..don't have to like whats going on but heck we're in it chin deep so suck it up and drive on..too many lives have been lost and its no time to quit..support the idea of the flag not the man holding it..or move to vietnam for all i care..I for one will never give up and if all is lost well thats why its called WAR! political bullcrap like you and your views need to be shot on site! We've come a long way baby and there aint no turning back now..so learn from the past..yes we have..and if anything we have learned that if we QUIT! we LOSE! but if we fight to the end we save face and be proud..so hush! and go suck on a lolipop..

the surge is working Bush said so.
we will not go down in shame as the Iraqi leadership has made great strides in gaining control of their country.
I said it before Hannity Rush and Bill O'. I can guarantee they will copy this post!!!
