Loyalty
Duty
Respect
Selfless Service
Honor
Integrity
Personal Courage
Every Army soldier should know what the above is. They should respect and love it. Take pride in it.
Also if you can hear 2,000 Soldiers reciting the Soldier's Creed in unison and not feel good about yourself and your country, then you are not a soldier.
---------------------------------
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough,
Trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and DESTROY, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I AM an American Soldier.
HOOAH!
----------------
What it boils down to is taking enough pride in your country to die by some coward sitting a mile away calling a number on his cell phone in a war most of the public thinks is wrong.

Well, a soldier is a person who is employed by a state who conduct military duties.
I think you're asking the mentality of a soldier. As a former soldier I can say to me the definition a soldier is one who delicates one's life for the defense of one's country.

Mopp is your best answer and outlines the idea.
Inside it means things of the same. Civilians around you will never be able to understand it. Miltary.... whatever one does contributes to a greater good. Pass people on the street and realize that what one does allows people to have a negative opinion of the military.
It's a pride in who you are, what you are and what you do.
