I just watched this in the news, what do you think. Do you agree that this could protect US citizens or is this just another excuse to turn the US into a police state.

I keep hearing people talk about how the terrorists will attack here if we leave Iraq. Aside from the fact that that's utterly ridiculous (if they were prepared to attack us, they'd have done so by now), why would we LET them? Why aren't our borders secure enough to prevent another terrorist attack? Clearly, the people saying this have no faith in our national security, so I guess my question is, shouldn't we be spending money on protecting ourselves, rather than spending money on "building democracy" in Iraq?

With all of the torture that has been reported in Iraq and Guantanamo, Why would Iran or any of the other Middle East nations even worry about pressuring for statements by using torture? This is the Can of Worms that BushCo has opened!

It’s pretty obvious that Iran is trying to start a confrontation with the West by their actions. And this is the same country that is slowly building a nuclear arsenal. I wish that westerners would put aside their political differences for just a moment and realize that attacking Bush and Blair is not the appropriate response to the Iran “hostage” situation. We need to stand firm and say the actions of Iran are completely uncalled for.

People like to compare apples and oranges, but you cannot compare the captured British soldiers to those detained at Guantanamo:
1. Guantanamo detainees were caught on the battlefield fighting against Coalition forces, the Brits were kidnapped by Iran in Iraqi waters.
2. Gitmo detainees are catalogued so we know exactly where they are, unlike the Brits.
3. Gitmo detainees are allowed to be visited by the Red Cross, Red Crescent, and other human rights organizations, unlike the Brits.
4. Gitmo detainees are not paraded on tv and forced to read statements

The technology is now here. A microchip can be implanted under your skin that would allow doctors to access your medical history in the event you had an accident and arrived in the emergency room unconscious. It would also allow you to make purchases like a credit card by simply waving your right hand under a sensor. It would solve the identity theft problem because it would be hard to lose. If your kid or grandparent gets lost it would have the ability to instantly locate them anywhere on the planet. If everyone was required to have one it would practically eliminate crime because it would give the cops the ability to track everyone at once. Imagine a bunch of teenagers spraying grafitti late at night. The cops would be able to see who was in the area at exactly what time. No more Illegal Immigration. No more smuggling. Terrorists would have nowhere to hide. So, would you let Big Brother chip you and your kids and live happily ever after? The technology is now here.

And don't say you have never heard this before, unless you have been on answers less than a week.

"Is the U.S. ready for a black president?"
"If you don't want to vote for Obama, you must be racist", etc.

Well, he is just as much black as he is white, so why call him a black guy? I say "just another whitey in the white house"

Now, Conid Rice is black. Both of her parents are black, so she is officially "black"

But Obama is just half black. So from now on, I wanna hear:

"Are we ready for a half-black President?"

Do you agree?
