I believe if some one is convicted of molesting a child they should get life with no parole, ever.

I believe taxes should be lower because so much money is wasted on pork barrel projects and if gov. had less money it would be forced to spend it more wisely and that tax returns should be one page and be completed in five minutes or less.

Dependency on foreign oil is a national security issuse and should be treated that way by congress and the president.

All nonviolent drug offenders should be set free and drug addiction should be treated as a medical problem not a legal problem. Marijuana should be legal and treated like alcohol.

Abortion should be legal, but government should do everything it can to lower the number. Including better education and contraceptives.

We should not sell weapons to any other country.

We should pressure Israel at least somewhat to achieve middle east peace. We should treat all partys the same way at the peace table.

Einstein’s Theory of Relativity is a theory, yet it’s widely accepted as a scientific truth because it’s supported by fact and believable evidence. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution is also a theory that’s supported by scientific assumption and plausible evidence. Given these two examples, why do the majority of Bush followers refuse to accept the fact-based theory and compelling evidence to support the premise that President Bush invaded Iraq to ensure that the major oil corporations reaped the benefits of controlling Iraq’s oil?

how can any rational human being consider what's going on in Iraq spreading democracy? Why do they have to lie so much? They should just come clean and say why they really send our troops to war and to die unnecessarily . Liberalism in the USA is based on the belief of four freedoms:
Freedom of speech.
Freedom of religion.
Freedom from fear.
Freedom from want.

It is the last tenet which prompted a lot of economic reform in the US, including control of monopolies, wage laws, and spawned entitlement programs like welfare and social security.

Freedom from want was once based on the idea that all Americans were entitled to the same opportunity to succeed through their own efforts. Liberalism helped remove the obstacles that prevented ambitious people from rising out of poverty.
Today, freedom from want seems to have taken on an entirely different nature. It no longer seems focused on the individual's right to succeed. Rather, it seems focused on the individual's right to fail and still not want for the necessities of life.
Freedom from want based on the success of others seems a road to national ruin. Why would a person produce if others satisfied his needs?

Most of Africa is made up of failed and corrupt states. The middle east is full of dictatorships, only Asia and India seems to have made it on its own. Why then not return to empire and be governed by somebody who can? Algeria was much more stable under the French. The Sudan was stable after Omdurman under the British. I don't think that the Brits could afford a 1895 style empire anymore, nor would the USA want to pay for one. Yet it seems that there was more benefit to being a protectorate of a mother country than being a backward independent.

I am a college student who is the chief editor of our campus' newspaper. Someone who writes for us (used to write for us), didnt like the way I said something to him and charged at me, smacking a US Constitution out of my hand and yelling and threatening me.

He is not a student, he works at the university.

He is denying what he did, even though people witnessed the ugly incident.

I didnt call the police, even after he verbally threatened me. Now we have to meet with administrators next week. I go to an all black college and am white, and he is also black. I get the feeling they are going to blame me for this.

What should I do? He is a huge guy, and me not big at all. Should I hire a laywer or something? I get the feeling they are all going to side against me, to look out for one of their own.

a good friend of mine was arrested yesterday for assult on an officer. He did not assult the officer, he did not even have anytime to assult him because he was tackeled to the ground. Assult is a felony but they are syaing if they can get people to write letters to the judge they can drop it down to a misdaminor. What wording should i use when i write this letter? are there any templates that i can use to make me sound better???


He is a great guy, Nice, smart, sweet... He is doing his best to keep his life on track and provide for his family... That is basically his number one priority... Please someone help. I need to write an Amazing letter... but i have never been great at writing so i need some help.

all the people in my community highly support this idea because we all know hillary has white house experience. with you as the vice pres. you can soak up the political experiance.
i beleive in you as pres. and aswell as hillary. but why argue about politics and policies, let's work together to accomplish one common goal! do know that for the next 16yrs, the citizens of the u.s.could accualy have there voice heard! that's alot of time and i'm sure that other counties in the world would welcome this plan. for a minute, disregard democrates an republicans and do something that hase'nt been done in a long time, work for the betterment of the citizens! nobody trust the govt. so i think that if you and hillary get together with both of yall on the democratic ticket, i think that you will see a landslide in votes with never before heard of voter turn out...

They have been active since the late 80's. Minimum sentences lock people up w/o any evidence and only a testomony is needed to lock that person up.

I was on some sort of drug due to my “high” heart rate. I do not do any illegal drugs - After explaining I became ill due to my sleeping pills mixed with wine (I won't do it again) he kept pushing me regarding illegal drugs and I said, if you think there are drugs in my house search it or give me a drug test! Well to my surprise the 4 police officers who accompanied the paramedics searched and snooped all around my place.

First, is that illegal?
Second, am I marked as someone of suspicion and will they be watching me and or harrassing me?

I don't have a criminal background whatsoever and have never been into trouble.

I purchased a car, and when i went to the bank to get a certified check to pay for it, the lady behind the counter asked what the check was for ( i asked her why she wanted to know, she said the government keeps track, I'm a strong believer that its none of the government's business what i do with my money ) So i told her it was for drugs, she gave me a funny look and put that on the paper, i forgot all about it, but low and behold about a week later i man called my house asking about a check i had recently writen....Now i have to fill out a bunch of forms for the Gov.
