Could someone tell me the word that is used by judges to get the attorney to redirect a line of questions that seems to cornor a witness.

Sounds like that's leading the witness somehow. I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not sure.

Clarify. Judges aren't supposed to help attorneys "corner a witness". Whoever wrote the clue doesn't understand the word, so at least give us the number of letters or something.
