I am against it. Oh, and having Jesus in your name, is not taking the Lord's name in vain...

I am personally against the idea of legalized abortion except in specific cases (rape).

I am ALSO against women having to go into back alleys and kill themselves as well as the child to get done what COULD have been prevented by widespread birth control, information, and the morning after pill.

I am against having buildings full of kids that no one wants because they don't have the "right qualifications".

I am against taking rights away from a woman and putting them in the hands of people who have never had the scare of being pregnant before they were ready.

I am SPECIFICALLY against people using their jobs as preaching leverage against those who come in to try and PREVENT an unwanted pregnancy - in marriage or out of marriage.

So, if you can manage to create a cause where EVERYONE has FREE ACCESS to birth control without lies, guilt, and deceit in the name of some religious beliefs, everyone has free access to the morning after pill, women can be better informed while feeling they still have control over their own lives, and better adoption policies, then I am with you in taking that stand against abortion. Until then, I just try to do what I can to keep the women in my life informed about their choices, and to let them know what I DO know from friends of mine who have made that difficult choice and had an abortion.

To this person who asked this question, you obviously don't realize the implications of 'standing against abortion'.

You also stand against freedom of choice and freedom of privacy. You implicitly draw a scientific conclusion based on little to no evidence whatsoever. Your conclusion to stand against such a practice is not even based on the scientific assumption you make (which ironically would make it more reasonable) but instead you find your justification in a book written thousands of years ago.

You stand against abortion? Provide a detailed and well-cited legal argument to support your stance.

I remembered when abortion was implemented. There are just as many unwanted children now as then. People just became more promiscuous. Too many people act now and think later. Abortion has just given them another reason to go their reckless, unthinking way through life.

I stand with you , But i dont think we should curtail the woman's right too.
I think the position of the law on abortion is better the way it is.

I am baffled as why the same liberals who are so opposed to the death penalty can support abortion.

On one hand we have someone who has heinously taken away someone else's life, someone who has caused misery and pain, someone who has given up their right to life by taking another life; and they say we should spare him. On the other hand is someone who has committed no crime, has never harmed another living being, who's only crime was to exist by the sins of another; and it should be legal and acceptable to kill this innocent being.

Sounds like the very definition of hypocrisy to me. I seem to remember another similar incident that happened about two thousand years ago. How did the society that committed that atrocity fair?

I'm wondering why you stand for it just in America! Does that mean it's OK with you everywhere else?

Probably makes a difference whether you figure abortion is murder or not.

Unfortunately, a lot of Americans fancy the convenience of abortion, and don't bother to think about the facts.
