Hostages of Iran
Friday, March 30, 2007
By: Elan Journo

Irvine, CA--"There is a profound, but unrecognized, lesson in the West's weak response to Iran's hostage-taking of British naval personnel," said Elan Journo, junior fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute.

"The U.K. government and Washington are widely regarded as aggressive defenders of their interests in the face of Islamist aggression. But the present Iranian hostage crisis shows, again, how these would-be defenders of our life and freedom are pathetically timid--while our enemy is shameless and ever more confident.

"Iran is a leading world sponsor of Islamic totalitarianism and has long been waging a terrorist proxy war against the West, through groups such as Hezbollah. In Iraq, Iran's proxies have been slaughtering U.S. and British troops. Iran initiates all of this aggression--to say nothing of its nuclear weapons program--with the confidence that it has an Allah-given...

First I'm a vegan & religion free & do not realy recognize any
non vegan or religious Gov., But am patriotic to my origin land.
The truth is that those guys intered into their teritory by
trespassing & breaking the intl. laws .
Why did the Britons attacked Iranian embassy today... ! ?
Why did U.S. kidnapped several Iranian diplomats several
times in passed 2 months & took them to Unknown location

The coins and paper money that all other Countries use such beautifull color contrasts and designs. Why is American money so boring? Why not make it more colorfull? Why has the money always looked so bland? I never noticed this until I started traveling.

I consider myself a moderate (pro-gun/death penalty/immigration controls - against the war/mixture of church & state). So I like to think I'm not quite in the nutty, stupid, wasteful back and forth that the two ideologies have with each other (it's like every society has to find a gang and someone to gang up on...some have the Kurds, others have the RNC...but I digress)....

My questions:

-Do you think the involvement of business and special interest groups in the system of government tainting it and slowly destroying it? To clarify: this is not an "anti-business" question regarding over-regulation, it's an "anti-lobbyist" question regarding fraternizing with an elected official.

-Should federally elected officials and their staffers be precluded from accepting any gifts of any kind (it CAN be done: Wal*Mart's been doing it for years...)?

These seem like non-partisan issues that one would get similar answers on, but we'll see what happens...

Feinstein was a member of the Military Construction Sub Committe, she awarded over 500 million dollars to her husbands companies.

One of the contractors was responsible for upgrading the medical facilities of the Veterans Administration, which included hospitals.

I guess she is beyond being an ethical member of the Senate. She finally resigned from the committee.

Alright dirty minds...stop right there. I was pulled over today and the police officer let me off with a warning, this has happened to me multiple times and they all happened to be male. The one ticket I received was from a female officer and she was very attitudy with me even when I was nice to her.

What do you think the reasoning behind this is?

Back in Iraq, the Dems’ “Contract With al Qaeda” undercuts the progress our troops have been making since the arrival of Gen. David Petraeus (the Dems tossed him the keys to the car, but won’t give him money for gas). For all too many politicians, our 2008 elections are more important than the fate of our soldiers or the Iraqi people.

They’re doing all they can to guarantee failure. After a year of tragic setbacks, our new tactics in Iraq have brought real signs of progress. Ultimately, of course, that progress may come to nothing. Sunni assassins may succeed in reinvigorating the religious war with the Shia - who’ve behaved with restraint for the past few months.

Success is never guaranteed in any war.

But that’s no reason to guarantee failure. Threatening to cut off funding for our troops is simply despicable.

The Republicans in this administration made unforgivable mistakes in the Middle East.

Now the Democrats appear determined to do even graver damage. And they utterly refuse to consider the consequences of their actions.

The Pelosi-Murtha Democrats won’t even confront the likely results within Iraq if we quit prematurely. As for considering the effect their duplicitous bills and votes have on the calculations of bad actors elsewhere in the Middle East, the Dems just shut their eyes and cover their ears.

We’re in an appalling position where our enemies in Tehran, Riyadh, Khartoum and Damascus, and in al Qaeda’s compounds in Waziristan, are thinking ahead with greater clarity than our elected officials in Washington. This isn’t about politics.

It’s about the fate of hundreds of millions of human beings. It’s about our national security. It’s about the defense of civilization.

But then again the pressure of being in the spotlight might just kill Darth cheney so maybe we should imprison bush now before he has a chance to damage out great nation any further...

what do you think?

And then when you read the story, you learn that a "memo" was written by a General, warning of a "strong posibility" that Tillman was killed by friendly fire. Then it says "There's no evidence" that said memo ever made it to the White House.

No, there's no media bias.....nope.....none.
