Yes, there is no such thing as a semi-auto machine gun. But this is what anti-gun activists call "assault weapons". Weapons made illegal because of the safety features, how the magazines are inserted, if they resemble military weapons, etc. While were at it, we should ban all pitt-bull kittens.

There is no such thing as a semi-automatic machine gun. By definition a machine gun is large mounted full-auto firearm. Example: the M2

The M-16, AK47, M4 are assault rifles capable of full-auto fire.

Sub-machine guns are select fire weapons that fire pistol ammuniton and are bigger than machine pistols. The Thompson, MP5

Machine pistols are full-auto handguns. Glock 18, Broomhandle.

Full-auto means holding down the trigger and multiple rounds are fired

Semi-auto means one round per trigger pull.

NO

First of all, Semi-Automatic guns were never baned. The only thing that was banned was the importation of "assault weapons" (a term with little real meaning a weapon had to have 4 of 11 deferent traits if I recall), weapons already in the US or made in the US were still legal.

I think that all law abiding citizens should be allowed to own and carry weapons.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Does the 1st amendment protect state governments right to peaceably assemble? Then why do gun control lobbyists think "the people" refers to the national guard in the 2nd amendment does?

No such thing. A semi-automatic gun fires one shot per one pull of the trigger. The classic M-1 Garande used by US soldiers in WWII was a semi-automatic rifle and this was clearly different than a machine gun.

PEOPLE, please educate yourselves:

LOOK UP the National Firearms Act.

Assault Weapons Ban and then

The constitution of the United States.

A machine gun is only a machine gun if it is fully automatic.

And NO, semi-auto weapons of any type should not be banned.

Most crimes are commited with .22 pistols. Assault weapons are rarely used during crimes.

Most gangstas couldn't operate an AR-15 if their life depended on it.

There is no such thing as a "semi-automatic machine gun". This is a problem with the anti-gun lobby, they are trying to ban something that they are ignorant of. Their fear lies in their ignorance, and they try to force their ignorance upon all of us. Before you deprive us of our Constitutional rights through your ignorance, learn something about what you are opposed of.
