Say you work a commission kind of job. One year you make 10K and the next year 110K. How do they figure out what your child support should be?

they will take the most they can so what ever number is higher they will use

They may require you to show tax returns for multiple years, not just one. Some states will only calculate on the regular income (non-commission) because the commission is not a guarantee. Depends on your state.

as in selling real estate? that field bottomed out, so i see what ya mean.

every state is different (slightly) about the child support guidelines, so i would look up your states laws to find out. just go to the links and click your state... then find the section / subject you need.

They generally use yearly, However you are suppose to report income changes to the court!
