It is not racist, but it is not accurate. An accurate nomenclature would be to say he is of "mixed race", being born of a white mother from Kansas and a black man from Africa.
However the cultural norm in our society is to call people of such a mixed race as "black". Since it is a norm, then it is hard to denote it as revealing racist opinions. Maybe it is just thoughtless and a bit ignorant.
When Barack Obama was asked why he called himself black, he responded, "Because that is how others see me".

He identifies himself as being Black. I have asked my friends, they say it's up to the individual. I think it's disrespectful to his mother, who is White, but I guess it's up to him. The facts are, he won't win the presidency unless he gets the white vote. He could get 100% of the Black vote , and still not get elected. He's got to convince ALL Americans he's qualified to be president.

It's called the "One-Drop" rule. Originally, it was used by slaveowners to deal with the problem of half-black babies by saying that if someone had even one drop of black blood in them, they were black, and therefore, slaves.
Now, the rule can be used to show how the black population is growing so rapidly: black men screw anything that moves, without protection, whether they want it or not. The resulting illegitimate offspring are taught that, no matter what their actual percentage of black genes, they are black, and must therefore continue the cycle of rejecting education, buying firearms, and raping anything that walks. Hence, the massive increase in the "black" population.

I actually think Liberals are welcoming Obama. I mean when they say he's black, they're just tryna please the people. I believe they feel "If we have to have one, at least he's only 'half' black" Figure he's the best way to shut us up. Because then we cant complain about not having a black president. 30 years down the line it'll be, "But ya'll had that Barack fella! He was Black!"

You love to bait, don't you Hippie Lover. Not to long ago if a person was10% black, if they had black features, they were treated as 2nd class citizens. So if a 'little' black was enough for prejudice it is enough to classify a person as a black. What do you call Tiger Woods? Black or Asian? The real question is why does it even make a difference???

I feel the same way when I see the question : "Is America ready for a woman president?" referring to Hillary Clinton.

It is racist to point out the race of a candidate, regardless of that race.
The only way to NOT be racist is to not discuss race when considering a candidate's chance to be president.
Vote against Obama because he is inexperienced, not because of his race.
Vote against Clinton because she is a socialist and willing to violate the Bill of Rights by taking oil company profits. Not because she female.

oh so he's what George Jefferson would have called a "zebra".
I'm ready for a GOOD president and I don't care if he's white, black, green, blue or has breasts.

If his appearance matters to someone, then they are considering racist issues. What should matter is if his ideas correspond with your ideas. His gender or physical appearances should not mean anything.
