Take the billions we are pouring into this war in Iraq and offer it as a reward to the first individual or company that comes up with a viable, environment-friendly alternative to fossil fuels. We'd have an alternative faster than you can say "Who needs the Middle East?"

Well first you have to verify there is such a thing. Considering that the science of the actual measurement is open to huge debate in the field, my guess the consensus is NO.
Now for the sake of argument lets say it is warming. Is this something outside of a normal cycle? If it is part of a normal cycle then we should definitely leave it alone since on the reverse we do not want to do something that will cause global cooling, which is far worse for humans than warming.
Now, lets say there is warming and it is outside of the normal cycle we have to know why. The major theory today is solar activity. Greenhouse gases do NOT cause warming, in fact CO2 is shown to follow a warming period, not lead it. Bet that surprises you since AlGore said just the opposite, but you know Al sells things to make money based purely on the hysteria at the moment, so he has a vested interest and we all know Al will LIE.
Okay, so it is warming and it is outside of the cycle, and it is the sun. Rather than trying to do something to the sun it would be much simpler and faster if we just nuked the entire world because if we mess with mother nature she will kill us as well , except much slower and much much more misery.
Makes sense when explained correctly doesn't it?

Global warming is not a threat!!!! It is a natural thing and is not caused by humans!! More people die from cold than from heat!! I suggest looking at some of the scientific proof that global warming is natural. Did you know that 50 years ago people thought we were going into an ice age!! Its the liberal people who are making everyone scared. They tell you omg there is global warming!! and everybody freaks out and they say "I can save the world with my awesome powers of taking money from Americans and handing it over to illegal Mexicans!!!!" And then all you liberal followers say "yes, we will vote for him!!" and then he gets all the votes, gets into power and does nothing but welfare crap!! Im basically trying to say that global warming is a huge scam from the liberals with power like John Kerry and Al Gore!!! Look at the scientifically proven facts not the stupid acting speeches made by Al Gore!!

Pretty much nothing. The thought of the government screwing around with "fixes" for global warming scares me a hell of a lot more than the actual thing.

I agree with Melanie H. , also planting more trees doesnt solve global warming, it is a natural thing.
Also it is scientificaly proven that at the peek of global warming, the water level will only raise 1 foot.

Well it's documented that government paid off scientist and environmental companies to issue false reports regarding global warming, stating it was hoax. So in a way, they are contributing to GW.

Well, let's see. How long has the government been trying to erase poverty in the U.S.?
The odds are not good that the government will do anything to alter global climate change.

Good lord. You cannot stop it.
The global climate change is a natural cycle of the earth, we can't stop it. What we need to do is get prepared for it.

Unless they can figure out how to control the temperature of the sun, nothing. If of course you think climate change is caused by man, than unless they can create goods and services without the use of energy the answer remains nothing

Start making energy policy based on the interests of the people insteadof the interests of the oil companies.
