You are right, many mistakes have been made - but, it was by all parties, on many things. Both of the main parties are to blame for things.

Ok, on the count of three, everyone together say "I was wrong"

One, two, three.....

Have the Democrats ever admitted that they screwed up? It is the natural man in us to not admit our errors. Our pride prevents us from admitting our errors. That doesn't make it right but puts the blame where it belongs. In order to admit fault, you have to bury your pride, be humble and take responsibility. It seems that the more that is at stake, the less likely the responsible party is to admit it. We see this at all levels of society. We try to cover our guilt by blaming others. Do I ever expect any major governmental body to accept blame for a mistake? NO!

Republicans admit mistakes about as much as Democrats do and neither are very good at it. However, just to satisfy the requirements of your questions. Here is text of the top Republican admiting mistakes and accepting the blame.

"The situation in Iraq is unacceptable to the American people - and it is unacceptable to me. Our troops in Iraq have fought bravely. They have done everything we have asked them to do. Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me."

You want to see people admit mistakes. What I want to see is honesty in general from everyone and these types of questions are never honest.
