My husband worked for 1.5 hours and then was rained out of a jobsite and sent home. Does the employer have to pay a min. of 4 hours for the day?? If there is a labor law that states that -- please give me a link. Thanks

The First amendment reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

That ensures a separation of Church and State. Thus, the government may not make laws about marriage if it is, as they insist, a "Sacred Institution."

I admire GWB but a lot of you don't.
Reagan used to be able to inspire a lot of people that way.
Clinton inspired just the opposite - immorality.

Do we have ANY strong moral leaders in our Government?

I graduated college- but with not so great gpa. I was told being an officer in the navy probably wouldnt happen because of this although i just scored 97 on the ASVAB. One thing im looking for in the navy is the opportunity to be stationed in japan. Any suggestions on how i should pursue this or what options would be available to me? Also I have not yet decided on what length of time to be active duty. How could that impact my chances of doing what i want? Also if anyone knows about what my chances of making officer would be, I'd appreciate the knowledge.

They seem to be fighting amongst themselves a lot lately. Could it be because it would be absolutely devastating for them if we stabilize Iraq? Imagine the political fall out that would happen if Bush brought all the troops home by Nov. 2008.

Not to sound like the movie "starship troopers", but the concept of earning citizenship through military service appeals to me in the respect that many people who have had family members fight and die for America make much better American citizens, or at least signify those who have vested interest in America through spilled blood and true patriotism. Do you have what it takes to be a Citizen, not a civilian? Do you want someone who comes here illegally to have the same amount of citizenship and rights as someone whose family has fought in every war defending the rights and freedoms AGAINST aforementioned peoples? (Remember the Alamo Bush you traitorous imbecilic monster, LONG LIVE THE NEW TAMMANY HALL!)

So few people pay attention to anything of relevance in this country. Britney Spears' bald head got more attention than the beginning of Britain's troop withdrawal. The common excuse I hear is, "I can't do anything about it, so why bother?" How do you convince someone that they can do something about it? That it's their responsibility, to themselves and their children and their children's children to do something about it?
Or am I just over-reacting and at risk for a heart attack?

Liberals will burn every American flag they can find in support of the ACLU, NAMBLA, and PETA. They are against torture of animals, killing of murderous criminals and terrorists, BUT support late term abortions and reject any and all restrictions against child molestors. Why is that?

2. taxes
3. war on radical islam

I know that it's okay to u turn in California when there are no signs posted saying it's illegal to. But is it legal to u turn from the middle lane that breaks off ever so often from the main road to let cars turn left into a neighborhood or residential area? Maybe this is confusing, but I'm not talking about taking a u turn at an intersection with traffic lights or a stop sign. I ask this since I keep seeing Los Angeles police giving out tickets to minor infractions so I want to be safe in case I become a victim of something inane.

This is a serious question and I want you to think about it before you answer.

By the way, I want realistic answers. Dont name a country that just could not possibly take on this role....... I love you Great Britain and you would do agreat job as a superpower again but because of your size you could not fullfill this role. You have a great military and culture and decent economy but because of your size/population i dont think you could do it. A superpower has to be big.

REALITY CHECK PEOPLE! Despite what Bush bashers, bleeding heart liberals, and conspiracy nuts would like you to believe, here is how the World Trade Center towers collapsed:

After the 767 jet liner crashed into the world trade center building creating the worst terror attack in history, a fire burned for 56 minutes inside the World Trade Center building number two. The top 20 floors of the building collapsed on the 90 floors below. The entire one hundred and ten-story building collapsed in 8 seconds... After a fire burned inside WTC tower number one for 102 minutes, the top 30 floors collapsed on the lower 80 floors. And the entire one hundred and ten stories of this building collapsed in 10 seconds. You can say the reason they collapsed was they were struck with a 185 ton jet airliner and the 24,000 gallons of jet fuel caused a fire of 1500 to 2000 degrees F which weakened the steel and caused the collapse. Any questions???
