Yes!!! They are heavily invested in defeat. Just look at the Vietnam war. They thought they won and then Millions of people died.

Nah... The fact is, they really DON'T want to do too much about Iraq- so that the Republicans are left "holding the bag" when next years Election comes around. They KNOW the cause is lost in Iraq...& they KNOW there's no way Bush can pull any of our troops out... They figure if they did so well in getting Democrats into Office LAST November- just IMAGINE how many MORE seats they'll gain NEXT year- after 2 more years of a War nobody wants. :)

They are fighting among themselves because that is what politicians do - it happens in both parties and pretty much everywhere else in the World.
However, Bush bringing home the troops just before he leaves office is of no consequence, what happens in Iraq BEFORE and AFTER is what counts because he can pull them out and a bigger civil war erupts, or worse, Iran could move in and take control, effectively controlling even more oil, oil the US needs - imagine being the one responsible for creating the environment in which Iran is able to have strong sway over Iraqi policies? Well that is what happened and history will not back favourably on that.
I do believe though that everyone on both sides needs to be focused on solving the problem and focusing their collective energies on designing solutions - even Bush has refused to implement some of the Iraq Study Group's recommendations AND THAT WAS BI-PARTISAN, and I see no Dems. really talking about possible solutions either - totally idiotic to me.
I HATE when people complain about a problem, say the current person is doing it wrong BUT then offer no better alternative

As an American I feel that stablizing Iraq will only happen under a dictator like Saddam was or to seperate the country into 3 states.
As an American I would like to ask you---how do you think that by trying to divide our citizens with such venom helps make America a better country?
Don't you want to live in a country that you can be proud of?
Anyone who is questioning this administration is doing so because our brave men and women of our military are DYING and coming home forever changed mentally as well as physically in many instances.
President Bush proclaimed..."Mission Accomplished" back in 2003!
This is February 2007 and we are still there!!
President Bush also said our mission wasn't nation building ---yet that is exactly what we are doing!!!
Now because we didn't effectively deal with Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan they are regrouping and regenerating and planning attacks against our forces in the coming months!!!
As a American ---every citizen---should be appalled and outraged at how ineffective Bush's strategy has been implemented in this DEBACLE!!!!

I see no evidence no matter how slight of any kind improvement in Iraq, even old Tony Blair has given up on Georgie Boy, as much as I would love to see a total troop withdrawl by Nov, 2008 I feel it's dang near impossible.

Don't believe everything you see and hear on TV. Why do you suppose that within weeks of the non-binding resolution, days after Britain announced they were getting out suddenly everything is coming up roses???
It is the spin doctors at work. Trying to trick the American public again...they are very good at it.
Listen to "Meet the Press", watch Jim Lehrer, watch the BBC news, watch 60 minutes, Face the Nation, the McLaughlin Group instead of the comedy you will find on Faux News, the rhetoric you can find on CNN and MSNBC. Get your news from several sources and you will have a picture of what is happening over there.

No!
The war is a disaster and it is going to remain one!
Their biggest issue is trying to regulate the money to Bush and his never ending war without hurting the troops! Something a Republican wouldn't have a clue about! That is why you cut Veterans Hospitals and then, in the same budget, give tax cuts to the rich!
You guys could care less about the troops as you have shown from day 1 sending them into combat ill equipped with few PPD's or armored Humvee's or even the troops they needed. You let Guard Units stay over there for 2 years before you relieved them, you are keeping people BEYOND their contract dates and sending them back to Iraq to be killed or wounded, You tried to cut their combat pay, charged them for meals while recovering from wounds at Walter Reed (Infested with cockroaches and rats), charged them $600.00 for PPD's that had to be cut off of them when wounded. You cut widows benefits in 1/2, cut 100 BILLION from VA Hospitals in 2006 and have another cut for them again in this FY budget, but you kept tax cuts for the rich!
They still don't have armored Humvees!
Don't tell me about Democrats! Your track record is abysmal and not getting better, but worse!

Haven't you heard? Bush won't pull out until the last serviceman or woman in Iraq is DEAD.
Secondly...
Britain pulled out because things are CALMER in Basra?
Which side of reality are you on?
Recent reports pointed to the fact that the Brits FAILED (one again) to restore ANY sense of order in that part of Iraq. Their military was on an "operational failure" notice, and they could not stay--even if they wanted to.
Not when they needed to beef up their troops in Afghanistan to fight a resurging Taliban.

you're able to watch the evening information for suggestions on what politicians are doing. you are able to watch FOX information to work out what the Republican social gathering likes, and CNN for the extra Democratic component of issues. base line: Republicans desire letting companies get extra advantages. The benefit is that when company does good, they'll hire extra human beings to artwork there, which would be good for the economic equipment. Plus, the IRS gets to convey jointly tax money from the corporate (however the Republicans attempt to make it so company pay much less tax-this way they are in a position to hire extra workers). the shrink back is that the corporate proprietors are oftentimes especially clever human beings, and that they "hide" their income so the government won't be able to get it, and issues like our surroundings and public classes that earnings elementary human beings get decrease. Democrats are seen as being greater spenders with government money, which oftentimes potential extra taxes. however the money would not bypass to big company (a minimum of in concept), particularly it gets positioned into classes for the unfavorable, the needy, faculties, roads, etc. it is an occasion: I stay in Utah, that's oftentimes Republican. there became a bill being argued by potential of the state legislatures that could provide dental care to the elderly, and it would fee $2 million, however the federal government might journey that with $4.5 million. The Republicans did not vote for it, yet particularly they voted to construct a $15 million parking storage close to the state capitol. This helps company, because of the fact somebody gets to construct it, and would not help the needy...all they mandatory became a pair million!! wish this facilitates. proceed to do your individual learn and notice which social gathering falls closer on your ideals. additionally, do not forget, there are different events or human beings you are able to vote for. There are Independents, green social gathering, etc.

We should be more concerned that the Dem's and Rep's have tuned us like violins to see the country in terms of one or the other.
We have minds of our own. And logic rarely tolerates the mindlessness of blind party alliance.
That being said, (a) I hope things do turn around and (b) I wish we'd spent all that money on geo-thermal powerplants - $600 Billion would've bought just about enough to drive all our industry, our homes AND our transportation.
When oil companies have to offer incentives to sell oil at two dollars a barrel, terrorist nations will be emasculated.

If things turn around in Iraq, so will the dems stance on Iraq. They'll be rubbing elbows with Bush saying they were there since the beginning! And taking credit for the win, since they gave Bush the power to invade!
