Not to sound like the movie "starship troopers", but the concept of earning citizenship through military service appeals to me in the respect that many people who have had family members fight and die for America make much better American citizens, or at least signify those who have vested interest in America through spilled blood and true patriotism. Do you have what it takes to be a Citizen, not a civilian? Do you want someone who comes here illegally to have the same amount of citizenship and rights as someone whose family has fought in every war defending the rights and freedoms AGAINST aforementioned peoples? (Remember the Alamo Bush you traitorous imbecilic monster, LONG LIVE THE NEW TAMMANY HALL!)

I think they need to earn their way to Be a citizen instead of getting a free ride. Wether its the different level's or passing a test. As long as they get to be a citizen I don't care. I just want them to be a citzen first before entering this Awesome Country most of them take forgranted!

No. The present system works for me. Never saw starship troopers, but I don't think I would care for levels of citizenship. Members of my family fought for the US shortly after gaining citizenship in this country. They had already decided where they wanted to be. I understand what you are getting at though.

If the wars the US fought actually had something to do with defending America, you might have a point. But it actually sounds kinda fascist and antithetical to what America is suppsed to stand for. I am oppossed to illegal immigration, but immigration is what created America. Remember, when we came over and slaughtered the natives?

I think I know what you mean, but I think that could get pretty complicated. Our immigration and citizenship policies sometimes seem complicated enough, as it is. We can't even enforce the laws we have already.
