Yesterday 4 teenages, were pulled from class-rooms. They were told they would go straight to Juvinial Detention. If they withhold any information, by local police. No one got permission from parents for this line of questioning, to be done while at school.
These children didn't even know anything about what the police wanted information on. Isn't there a law to protect our kids? And make it the right of us as parents to know if they are being questioned, and by whom is questioning?

In the 1950s and 60s, Richard Nixon was one of the staunchest opponents of Communism and fought the Soviets and Red Chinese at every opportunity.

In 1972, however, Nixon flew to Peking and reopened China to the West. Two months later Nixon was in Moscow signing the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty with Brezhnev.

Despite the stupidity that ended his career, there can be little doubt that Nixon's two acts of statemanship have changed the world.

Should Bush follow Nixon's example and confront the Iranians, the Syrians, and even the North Koreans on their own doorsteps? He has little to lose and everything to gain.

Most people accept the institution of government because it has always been there; they have always assumed it was essential. People do not question its existence, much less its right to exist.

How exactly is it harming the middle east? Are the Jew the most powerful people on the planet? Or is this just the new Nazi movement that even American liberals are joining?

OK, look...I DO BELIEVE that we should be enviornmentally consious--like recycling, using paper bags, laundering in cold water, turning off unused lights, walk or ride public transportation, etc...basic COMMON SENSE and all of which I do. But this 'carbon offset' jazz has become almost laughable. It is nothing more than "penance" for kooks like Al Gore who waste 10 times the energy a regular citizen wastes--then justify it by planting some trees or installing solar panels at their mansions.

Give me a break. I am so tired of hearing this rediculous buzzword that is nothing more than some elitist envoirnmentalists' way of shifting a burden onto common folks so they can "buy" their way out of changing their own lifestyles. It is totally hypocritical and I highly question its accuracy. Comments?

I qualify for OCS; however, he is indicated I should become an officer after I enlist. If I was to go the OCS route, how would it the process work for the ARMY Reserves? Would I first go to BCT, then OCS? At what point would I begin training from my MOS as an Officer? Also, how long would I expect to be out of work (for my regular job) if I pursued this route?

Thank you!

we have enemies all over the Arab and Muslim nations, some Asian nations are not too fond of us, France doesn't like us, even a couple of Latin American nations are talking bad about the U.S., the immigration problem isn't helping our relations with Mexico, and we make fun of Canadians all the time... what is happening to our country?

Semitic
-noun
1. a subfamily of Afroasiatic languages that includes Akkadian, Arabic, Aramaic, Ethiopic, Hebrew, and Phoenician.
-adjective
2. of or pertaining to the Semites or their languages, esp. of or pertaining to the Jews.
Source: www.dictionary.com

Notice that the first definition would include Palestineans, Iraqis, and North Africans along with Israelis. The second definition says the same thing, but places emphasis on "pertaining to the Jews".

The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) is about fighting anti-semitism.
"For 90 years, ADL has been combating anti-Semitism and bigotry of all kinds."
(History of ADL: http://www.adl.org/main_about_adl.asp)...
However, it's main goal is "To stop the defamation of the Jewish people..."
It seems to me that since it's main purpose is to fight anti-semitism that it would also fight racism against all Semitic people, not just on the Jewish (Israeli/Hebrew).

Does this make sense to anyone else, or am I putting to much into this?

Can the world possibly compromise their interests and try to help the suffering women and children in Africa and Asia? Do we only have to intervene where we have interests like minerals and large markets for our products? And sometimes fuelling crisis like hitting Somalia with missiles from a safe distance and trying to cover up, eh? In the words of Phil Collins; "...When the dust settles and the blood stops running, how do you sleep at night...?"

There is a Hispanic family across the street from mine, I think they may be illegal as they don't really speak much English (All I hear is spanish tv with the volume turned up all the way), and seeing as their kids are going to a school that my tax dollars are paying for, I want to get to the bottom of this. Can you also recommend the best way to contact the INS if this is the case?

Thanks!

Hi,
My mother and I are Filipinos. We will be traveling to spain and we will be stopping-over to Frankfurt for a few hours or maybe an overnight stay for our connecting flight to Barcelona (by other airline).
Do we need to get the Transit Visa for Germany?
I hope someone could give me a concrete and accurate information regarding this.
