My father passed away and had a sudden death. He has one sister and she is saying that if I fight her for his home, my home at one time, she will win becuase she is the next of kin. He left me his insurance policies, which I had no idea of, she wants the house to make profit but I want the house to keep, I might sell mine and move in. I grew up in it. I spoke to a lawyer and he says that the only way I can win is if I have my Biological father and my mother give testimony saying that my Biological father warned my dad that if he tried to adopt me, he would put up a fight. Which is what really happened. If I can prove that, underCalifornia Probate law, that would win me the home. I have to give the lawyer 5,000.00 as a deposit. Has anyone been thru this? Any advice? Is it worth it or is it a hassle? I dont wany troble or more heartache

like... say if a liberal had their right to free speech infringed... would Republicans fight for him/defend him? and has it happened directly?

(you could say any soldier is fighting for this, but they would be fighting for conservatives too)...

like the ACLU defended Rush Limbaugh that time that they felt his rights were being violated... would a conservative group do the same if the situation was reversed?

why I'm asking is because so often it seems like Republicans confuse "fighting for rights" with "supporting an individual"... and it seems some don't understand that you can fight for someone's rights without supporting their ideas...

of course some probably feel otherwise... and some liberals probably wouldn't fight for Republican rights...

what do you think? and are there any direct examples of this?

considering all the alliances involved (NATO, DPRK-Venezuela-Cuba alliance, etc), and the fact that alliances among powers such as these led to WWI, the instability of the Middle East and our oil supplies, increasing numbers of nuclear weapons, distrust among one another, and rogue nations unwilling to listen to the U.N.,

will we have another world war? and considering technology today, will the losses be even greater? is the doomsday clock actually right?

I saw this on the news, it is not a joke. High school wrestlers are spreading herpes on the wrestling mats. Here's the link to the local tv station, give it a look.

In California, when a case is listed in the Court of Appeal or Supreme Court, sometimes it lists the Superior Court as a party. Does this mean the Superior Court is party to the case, or just that it was the court that handed down the original decision? I am assuming the other party listed is the one that is appealing, but I don't understand why the case should be filed against the Superior Court rather than against the original opposing party. You never see US Supreme Court cases saying Smith v. U.S. District Court. Someone please explain how this works. Thanks in advance.

For instance, how does anyone think how bad the press would have been towards U.S. Grant? or any other of our founding fathers?

Bush made a statement about Venezuela's government being a deteriorating democracy to support an observation in which he said he saddened by the fact that a lot of capitalistic democracys were starting to lean more and more to socialism.

So Chavez just starts whining on and on about Bush. He sounded like he was reading off a list of things anti-administration people say about Bush....

"If he had any dignity, the president of the United States would quit. The U.S. president doesn't have the political or moral capacity to govern,"

"...should be tried for "war crimes" committed by the U.S. military across the globe." (in regards to Bush and Negroponte)

I mean, he doesnt even refute Bush and defend his democracy by giving an alternative opinion...

All he does is say everything the anti-administration wacko's say about Bush just to make him mad even though he has no idea what he's talking about...
How childish is that? really?

Is it just a nice dream to picture an America with health care for everyone? Both Obama and Hillary were saying they plan to make it their top priority while in office. Do you think they are just making huge promises they can't keep? Or is it possible?

p.s. Canada has healthcare for all their citizens.

Ok, I've asked three questions, all asking opinions on government interference with child rearing. A vast majority believe that spanking should be up to a parent, and that obesity should be government monitored... So, does that mean that the U.S. should deem child obesity as neglect or abuse? Should there be laws in place which make it a crime, much like abuse, if your child is overweight?
