yes it is a conspiracy theory... but that hasn't always been true.

After the Vietnam war, the media need begin to lean left. We have seen a transition of this though since the 90s. The majority of the major media corporations today are owned and controlled by major financian contributors to the Republic party.

They learned a long time ago that if you can control information then you can control what ppl think and believe.

Bush has been trying to get his hands on PBS over the past few years... PBS is the only nuetral media source left in the USA.

I don't believe that the "news" is slanted toward liberals or conservatives, BUT I think it is slanted toward the least common denominator.

When I studied journalism, back in the ancient days of the 60s--ha ha--a news story was #1, supposed to BE news, and #2 was supposed to tell you who, what, where, when and why. As Joe Friday was wont to say, "The facts, mam, just the facts."

Now we have "Breaking News" every thirty seconds: Breaking News...People are at a school board meeting, details at 11...or Breaking News: It's snowing, details at 11!! It's all about entertainment, sponsors, viewership, etc. I'm sick and tired of it, to tell the truth! I don't want to know who did or didn't wear panties in the limo, what Hillary ate for breakfast, or any of that kind of crap!

Then we have "news" stories coming out like "Barak was raised in a Muslim seminary"--which was later proved false (after the
legitimate (?) news organizations had picked it up and run with it) How much of this is error?? How much of it is planted?? Once it is out there, all the retractions in the world will not remove the idea from some people's heads.

Journalists (and I use the term loosely) need to get back to the very important and sacred job of informing the people!!!

I was medevaced to Germany from Iraq in 2003. I was interviewed by a correspondent from CNN International. He asked me a few vague questions and was about to end the interview. i stopped him and asked why didn't ask the important questions? He turned the microphone back on and the camera came back up and he asked what I wanted to talk about.
I said that I wante to talk about the schools that we had built; the hospitals that we had opened; the power we had restored; the sewer systems that we had repaired; the Iraqi soldiers we had made personal alliances with; etc. The microphone went down and the camera turned off. He said, and I quote (not paraphrase), "That doesn't make news. It's not what people want to hear." I told him that if he reported it then it would most certinly be the news and, yes, people do want to hear it. I have friends and family asking why they never hear about it. He thanked me for the offer but declined the interview. He offered his hand and I basically told him to go .....
Yes. The liberal media conspiracy is real. I know from first hand knowledge dealing with one of the largest, best know news agencies in the world.

The media as a whole needs to re-evaluate itself and its actual purpose. The purpose of the media is to inform the public and present all the facts. No opinions, no omitting facts to promote a certain agenda (Candy Crowley), and no stupid off-handed one-liners about the news (Shepperd Smith).

The news has grown into a machine designed solely to sensationalize everything. There are not bombs going off in Iraq on every street corner like they want you to believe. And there are not homosexuals banging on every door in America trying to rape little children.

The news has turned itself into an entertainment platform and has thus lost much credibility. The bad part is they continue to deny it and most America falls prey to their messages.

Yes! If the media were that liberal, no way would the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal have gotten all the press it did. The media in the USA is after one main thing--commercial profit. Whatever stories will get the viewers and thus the advertising dollars are the stories that will run, no matter the political bias.

Not a conspiracy theory in the sense of people purposely getting together and all deciding to go in one direction (although I'm sure that happens), but YES in the very real sense of a bias against conservatives and religious moral values. Some of what they do is targeted at ratings, but some of it is targeted at promoting thier beliefs.

Watch the next 18 months and see how many Positive versus Negative stories you hear about Hillary and other Democrat Presidential candidates versus the Republican Presidential candidates and then tell me the "Liberal Media" isn't trying to get Hillary elected.

So YES there is a wide-spread BIAS, but no its probably not a conspiracy. Great Question!

Liberal Media?........... it's a theory....an American theory.

That everybody wants to be like Americans.....that's a myth.

I wouldn't call it a conspiracy, exactly. I think most journalists are more liberal on social issues because journalism is an art. Liberals tend to major in the arts in college, but conservatives tend to study business and/or economics.

A lot of media stations adjust their news--either to the left or to the right--to suit their listeners & watchers. They'll slant it to suit the public whether its delivery is truthful or not.
