On November 7th, we sent a clear irrefutable message to Congress that we are sick and tired of our Country's image being dragged through the mud, our enemies being emboldened, our tax dollars being wasted, and our soldiers being killed and wounded.

But yesterday, Republicans REFUSED to even debate new appraoches to the Iraq war.

Republicans, you made a GIANT mistake in Iraq, now it is time to listen to the American people.

When America does the exact same thing. It invades other countries and massacres civilians. In Vietnam they murdered women and children at My Lai and dropped napalm on groups of children. They continue to massacre men, women and children on a daily basis in Iraq and they torture prisoners in Abu Grahab and Guantanamo. In latin American countries such as Chile and Nicaragua the CIA has removed democratically elected goverments and replaced them with right wing despots. How counld these hypocrites try the leaders of Nazi Germany. For the record I am of the belief that the Nazis were criminals and deserved the end they got I just think the US was hypocritical to take a moral highground at Nuremberg

Sarkozy answers that France neednot feel ashamed of its colonialist past, and that the children donot have to answer for their fathers' deeds. What makes France so special that it requires others to recognize war conditions as genocide, but doesnot apologize for its own sinful past? How come Turkey has to answer for the deeds of a monarchy buried in history, when the citizens of the same and only France neednot feel ashamed of anything whatsoever? Is there something we don't know? Are the French some kind of superior race? Wait, can't be, that would be racism, wouldn't it?

Should we turn more towards Europe?

I am asking a very specific question - if we leave without achieving our goal of a peaceful, relatively stable government that can defend itself from external and internal enemies, what will the consequences be for the US?

I'm not asking how we got there. But what will happen if we leave.

What say you? Thanks.

As the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, debate whether to be involved in a Library for the President, why is Bush classifying the vast majority of his papers? Roosevelt believed a president's papers should become the property of the nation. But then he WAS an elected President.

"Mr Bush has already shown that he wants to fight disclosure of his records. His administration has classified a tremendous amount of material as top secret - material that other administrations would not have classified in such a way."

Following a procedural vote Monday that sidetracked a resolution on the war, Democrats said they would eventually find a way to put each senator on record. On the table is a nonbinding resolution backed by several Republicans and most Democrats that would state Senate opposition to President Bush's plan to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq.

Just a couple of years ago, everything deserved an "up or down" vote. Have the Republicans suddenly lost their nerve? Or did they never really have a set to begin with?
