Say you have 10 years of NS but spend 50% of that time working overseas. Will that 10 years be cut by half or just pushed back?

No ! even no exempted for studies. Maybe get a PR or citizen over there. Good luck !

So long you are still Singapore citizen (male), you will have to serve your national service.

You should be proud to serve National Service for at least 2 years. Call yourself a man and defends the country or at least yo know how to handle a firearm. You never know one day you may save your family.

I am a wire loose man yet I served combat signaller NS for 2.5 yrs honourly with a corporal rank. haha... Come back and serve lah, don't chicken runaway leh...
