And "because the election was rigged" is not an acceptable answer (you can be more creative than that).

The same reason Clinton never won a majority, the neo-liberal Democatic party is way out of step with the American voter. (Not that the Republicans are doing much better). But Americans want a better America, not a pale imitation of socialist Europe.

John Kerry lost because he did not present very many ideas or even thoughts until it was too late. We elect presidents who appear to be strong and decisive. Kerry never appeared that way. Gore said too many stupid things, and that wooden appearance of his hurt his image as well. If you can not win your home state, you do not deserve to be president. Lastly, landslides rarely happen in presidential politics. Reagan "crushed" Carter in the electoral college, but only got 2% more of the popular vote. A few votes here and there, and Carter would have won.

I found it fascinating that John Kerry won all the presidential debates - by a landslide - yet didn't get elected. That tells me that the general population doesn't watch the debates, and/or they already have their minds made up by past party affiliation that nothing could sway their vote. I was shocked and astounded to learn that Bush was back in office.

So thats my answer...directly...that the American people voted on party affiliation, rather than make an informed decision about the two candidates.

Why didn't Bush? He lost the popular vote in 2000 and only won the election in Florida by 260 votes. In 2004 that margin in Ohio was 60,000. However that was out of 110 million votes cast nation wide so it's hardly a landslide.

Frankly to win a presidency in America, you have to be sort of a "star" . . . .even more so than having qualifications you need to have charisma and the abilkity to control people by making them like you and trust you. Gore seemed like a good candidate but he looks like a cold fish in public. Bush seemed decisive and strong in contrast. Kerry lacked the same quality, he did not appear dynamic and the screen didnt like him as much.

because they are liberals and most of America is conservative. The only reason they got as many votes as they did is because Republicans work for a living and don't take the time to vote. People on warfare on the other hand have lots of time and know the Dems will continue to buy their votes with increased entitlement payments.

It's pretty simple--AL Gore was stupid as everyone can see. John Kerry was a deceptive liar that faked all his medals to look like he was someone special.
I think justice was served that they did not end up the President!
