What should i do????????????

So, I just heard a gun shot [im used to it] but i think they were pointing towards my house. Eveyones sleeping and I'll get in trouble if I call the police [im 15] What should i do?? Im paranoid that someone will break in! Should I get a knife and hide in my room? PLEASE HELP and yes this is a serious question

I woke up my mom last night and she told me to go back to bed =[ but Im fine thank god... Thanks for awnsering

Well guess what calling the cops will get you help quicker than getting a mouse to come, and how about waking someone up in your house, maybe you'll save them from getting shot too.

Ofcourse it's all real and since you're being shot at. The first instinctive thing to do is to turn on the computer so as to light up the room with the glowing screen in the dark. So as to help the thugs locate you easier.
If there was a gun shot and everyone is sleeping in your house except for you. Then, turn off the computer grab your dad's or mom's shotgun and be quiet.So that you can hear them coming. If you don't have a gun. Then,this will be good learning experience for your neighbours,friends & family. If you survive the event. Don't you at least have a decent archery set with the safety arrowheads removed,resharpened and hardened with a lighter ? As for getting a knife and hiding in your room. That's a bad idea. Try waking up your mom and dad first. If you hear footsteps coming. Give your dad the knife. Stay low. So as to avoid being shot. Good Luck.

If you heard a gun shot - or even if you think you did ... then you should definitely call the police. I don't understand why you would get into trouble unless you're playing a hoax. Getting a knife and hiding it in your room is not the solution to any problem. If you truly feel you're paranoid, ask you parents or a school counselor to get you some help. Call the police, and Make an annonymous call, you don't have to give them your Name or Phone number or tell them where you live, simply tell them you heard gun shots in the area, and your requesting an officer to check the area, so if shots are fired again while the officer is there, they can try to figure out where the sound is coming from and try to catch them, do that or wake your parents up.

I think you should report to the police and get the to act. Is your area prone to gun violance or street shooting. But if it is not the case your parents should know this as well as the police. Are your neighbors peaceful people anyway. that might be the cause of the gun if someone around your neighborhood is not in good books with, maybe gangsters or so.

Call the police anyway. Even if the noise had nothing to do with your house, a visible police presence would likely scare potential intruders away, and if nothing else, give you some peace of mind.
If gunshots are a common occurence in your neighborhood, I'm sure your folks would understand.

You should probably go knock on your parents door and see if you can wake them up gently, or if the shots woke them up too. If someone was going to break in they probably wouldn't announce themselves with gunshots, and it may just have been something else. Often times people think they hear gunshots when it's merely firecrackers or a bad car engine. Your parents should be able to comfort you, just don't be too unreasonable about conveying your concern. good luck.

Call the police and report shots fired. There's no age requirement for calling the police and you don't have to have them come by your house. They can just drive through the neighborhood and make themselves seen.

Well, a knife wont help against a gun so I wouldnt do that. Just stay calm, lock all your doors and windows. Call the cops anonymously and tell them you heard a gunshot and they should check it out.
