It used to be that people associated communist and socialist countries with dictatorships, but in the past few years socialists have been elected in country after country, in Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Do you think that the rise of globalization and large corporations are making socialist ideas more acceptable nowadays?

Can anyone with any sense compare any living figure today to Hitler? Have any of the people who have actually read history really think that Saddam, Bush or Senator Clinton compares to a man who was responsible for the exploitation, torture and slaughter of millions? Is this anything short of an insult to the loved ones of those who died at his hands, as well as the few blessed survivors?

I ask this because inane Hitler comparison questions continue to pop up on here.

By this, I mean the fact that society is making things that used to be unacceptable commonplace. I'll have to leave specifics up to you, because when I specified those things that are immoral, some liberal got their feelings hurt and my question got deleted..so be careful, the PC police are everywhere.

Hope someone may be able to help. It is of personal importance that I know the reason why. Basically this man entered the UK and ten years later claims that he is unable to leave the UK as his passport was confiscated on entering the country.

Your President is spending eight billion a month on his war. Why do you never complain about that?

Only the far-left finds abortion totally acceptable. Most (I'd say 85%) of Americans realize that it is, in one way or another, ending a life/life-to-be.

My question is this: Should we change the liberal slogan to delineate the true nature of our agenda?

At what point does a traffic cop decide to pull someone over?

The other day I got caught going 32 in a 25 (school zone when it was active). The officer gave me a warning ticket (i.e. no charge, no further action required on my part: just slow down!). What I wonder is if there is some threshold by which an officer judges (a) if someone is worth pulling over for speeding and (b) if it's a chargeable offense vs a simple warning.

My room mate and I are always pulling practical jokes on one another. To date, he's frozen my beer, placed all my underwear in a pan of water and froze it in the freezer, and even placed that practical joke non-tearing toilet paper in the bathroom.

Yesterday, I replaced his toothpaste with hemorrhoid cream. When he went to brush his teeth, his mouth puckered shut and stayed that way for a few hours. Now he won't even speak to me.

Did I go too far?

the soldier who refuses to go to iraq?

2007-01-04 08:35:27 · 14 answers · asked by Anonymous in Military

My husband joined the military to get his life straight. Before we got married he was all about the army. He couldnt wait to go to Iraq. Now that we are married a lot has changed. He hates the army or the 82nd anyway. It has caused sooo much stress that we dont need. I have lots of medical problems and him never being home doesnt help. I also cant drive.. has to do with my medical problems. He knows I support him in whatever he does and he wanted to stay in that would be fine with me I have family that can help me. I am behind him 100% no matter what. We both have jobs lined up if he can get out. He has only been in for a year and deployment is coming up and he is not sure wht to do. He tried the whole getting in trouble but that did nothing but take money from us. Does anyone have any ideas that could help us out? He is very depressed and just not happy. The army is great for some people but its just not working out for us. PLEASE HELP ASAP!

they keep calling even though I've told them they can't reach the person they want at my number, they said they will continue to call because I have no forwarding number to give them! help, they yell at me, interrupt constantly, and even called me a bad mother. they say they have every right to yell at me because I am "antagonizing" them! Their number keeps showing up as a blocked call, like my hubby's phone, so I can't not answer... Help, what do I do?
