The political spectrum is often thought of as a straight line, with socialism and authoritarianism at the polar opposites.
But the political spectrum is really more like a circle with a bit of overlap between the two extremes. When you look at history's worst dictators they were either from the far left or the far right, but often said and did the same things to support their diametrically opposing viewpoints.
Both of them take away personal freedoms for the common good. Authoritarian rulers are often called dictators and considered evil because they trample rights, and socialist countries are hailed as being truly free and offering total equality. But some authoritarian regimes are described as being benevolent despots and the citizens are happy, and some socialist countries have a policy of "shared pain" where everyone is broke and miserable.
So neither system is worse, they are both bad for the same reason, they take away civil rights and freedoms and concentrate power in the hands of a small group of people.

Authoritarianism is far worse, as at least in Socialism, you have what appears to be a Democratic basis for resolving issues. In Authoritarianism, there is no recourse, and no vote, and definitely no Democracy.

It depends on your personal point of view. Socialism the government uses the tax system to redistribute wealth to give the poorest people in that nation a chance at success and affluence. Authoritarianism uses force to keep the wealthiest in the nation powerful and safe from an uprising of the lower classes.

Medicare and Social secure practices have been part of FDR's New Deal lie, meant to enslave the minds of human beings to the defective thought that Socialized retirement is a "good element". team artwork grew to become into no longer invented through V.I. Lenin. it somewhat is been a factor of Jewish and Christian philosophy for many centuries. Police departments have been created to supplant the close by community's accountability for looking after its own issues. same is going for hearth departments (are not getting me incorrect, they have their makes use of and that i completely help the officers and firemen. I do only no longer help the assumption). the rustic's roads AND highway device have been designed AND built through inner maximum, loose marketplace companies. i think that each and every person institutions of better getting to understand ought to be inner maximum, no longer government funded indoctrination centers for youthful heads complete of mush, with out genuine life adventure to instruct them distinctive. same is going for public (I want to declare government) faculties. i think of community institutions exist to furnish the close by administration freaks something to do with their pathetic lives. I nonetheless can not be sure what fool informed you that the U.S. protection stress is a socialist build. Do you truly think of that maximum participants of our protection stress could EVER combat against us. this is explanation why we've an ALL VOLUNTEER protection stress. They serve freedom, no longer the ill reported constructs of a tyrant, as conscripts (a real socialist thought) could. ELECTIONS? How interior the HELL are elections a SOCIALIST thought? the only socialist thought on the subject count number of elections is a thank you to bypass approximately defrauding the voters of their suitable decision of representation. So the place is your argument? i think of you made a great mistake in believing that everybody concurs with all your examples. back to the drafting board. You FAIL.

Technically, socialism is a philosophy that is based on the principle that everyone should be ABSOLUTELY equal. The philosophy of socialism was contorted into absolute government power, and that is the reason it failed.
Authoritarianism is absolute power without concern for individual voice. There is absolute order, and absolutely NO breaking any of the government laws...
So I am definitely voting for socialism for my choice of govermnent, and Authoritarinaism as the worst.

it depends on the people in that system.. a people with less self control need a more authoritarian government.. people with better self-control can properly run a socialist government (which is better for everyone) .. the problem is that if the people can't control themselves then it is either anarchy or the government becomes more of a dictatorship than a socialist work.. this is referring to the extreme view of each government.

definitely authoritarianism. Socialism just means that there's a lot of government assistance and that there will be a very even distribution of goods. Authoritarianism is always bad.
