I keep seeing this pattern where there is a big idiotic thing that happens that causes the US to look bad then followed by an even bigger idiotic move to somehow justify the first idiotic move.

Cell phone video of Saddam = Send more troops to Iraq

I came out of the shop this evening, and a traffic warden was printing a ticket out, as far as i am aware the warden must sign it place it in the yellow envelope and take a photo of it on my windscreen, as i climbed into my car she said, "its already been issued" i didnt even argue with her i just jumped in my car, as i did so she quickly ripped it off her printer and just tucked the ticket under my wiper, then tried to take a photo as i drove off. im sure im ok but just checking.

I am on probation for possession of pot. I suffer from depression and I have no car and no job (interviewing and thinking of going back to school). I missed one probation appointment because I tried to walk 10 blocks and my shoe broke. I had no phone to call. When I got to a phone I called but they said "too late" and revoked my probation. The atty who represented me the first time wants $750 which I would have to borrow to represent me. I have proof I had no phone, that I have no car, that I've paid my fines, done my community service and started my drug classes and only missed this one appointment (although the court papers say I've done none of the above) -- do I really need a high powered defense attorney or should I trust a public defender?

I was just wondering if most people understand that there is a difference between someone who is socially conservative and someone who is fiscally conservative.. is everyone aware of that difference?

I'll try to explain to someone that I don't mind fiscal conservatives, but i always get in debates with social conservatives just because my views are so different from theirs.

Is everyone aware of the difference, or am I the only one who sees it?

The preesident signed a bill today with a signing statement that he is authorized to open anyone's mail without a warrant.http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=2770381&page=1&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312
This is from the same ABC that made the 9/11 movie, so please spare me the liberal bias knee-jerk reaction.
I've committed no crime. Why is my personal communication subject to scrutiny without a warrant?

It seems that the conservative Republican philosophy is dependent on a "them" for "us" to hate. In order to present a platform, there has to be a target: Gays, Immigrants, Muslims, welfare recipients, the working class, government, even those who dare raise a voice contrary to the party line. Is it truly necessary to present an enemy before one's constituents before introducing a policy?

Do the math.

Get a copy of the US budget, find the programs you hate, add them all up, then figure out the percentage they represent of the entire budget,

Then apply that percentage to your most recent tax filing.

Remember, 50% goes to the military and 30% goes to interest on the debt. That leaves 20% for everything else, from dredging the Mississippi, to direct welfare payments, to corporate welfare., to roads in natonal parks.

Do the math.

Our concern: we have let some friends try it out.....one of them asked us what was all in it. I asked him why was he having some allergic reactions or something? He stated no, he was just wondering what was all in it.

How do you protect yourself from someone stealing your "formula"/ideas?

Senator John Thune is now one man doing the job of two.

Do you think that the State of South Dakota is properly represented in the U.S. Senate now , or do you think that nothing has changed with Tim Johnson camatose in a hosital bed and not able to communicate.

I want to serve a County Court Judgement for money owed to me, but I can't find the persons address. They are not listed on the electoral register. Can I have it sent to their daughters address instead Because they see their daughter at least three times a week. Would this be legal?

I'm 43 years of age, with a beautiful wife and four kids. I have no visible scars. I wash the Buik once a week, mow the lawn on a Sunday and take the kids to school every day. I've never had an affair and I hate people who lie. Sometimes, I visit the skid-row area in Washington DC and give money to the poor, other times I visit the homeless and hand out food parcels on the street.
I have vowed that if I ever get to the White House, I'll only appear on television strapped to a lie detector.
Well, what do you think? Should I?
