yes.. we aren't quite socially evolved enough to truly be completely liberal.. that can't work at this time.. but the correct path is to continue to walk the line between liberalism and conservatism and continually tweak that line to the left as we progress.

to explain myself further.. being completely liberal takes great self restraint and control on a personal level.. whereas with conservatism that restraint and control is aided by an outside source... to be completely liberal at this stage in human evolution would be anarchy because most people just don't have the ability to control themselves quite yet.... this is also why most people you meet are moderates.. they aren't either extreme.

First off, you should try writing questions in the simplest form and add the fancy words later; not every has read the Dictonary! Second, humans themselves can't evolve, but over time, a group can change. But you will never truly get rid of a political group. And besides, what is wrong with conservatism? What make whatever you are any better or your views any better? This is a question of your personal political opinion that you are intitled to. Besides, does catogories really affect anything, since we all think differently and may be conserative on one issue and liberal on another?

Well, not so much conservatism being archaic, more the mindset of imperialism.

If people really cared about each other instead of how many things they can buy how much money they can make, then we can truly evolve into something new and beneficial to the world and each other. Then we wouldn't have to wonder why the whole world is so f'd up. But that's just me...

Thumbs down for me!

I'm not so sure that such a mindset is in and of itself "archaic". Some of the the "liberal" ideas are just as way out as any conservative I've ever heard. I'd even go so far as to say that a more moderate mindset with pieces from both isn't whats really needed.

Uhmmm... In the real scientific world of biology and anthroplogy it is axiomatic that a complex multiple organism (visualize an antpile) evolve into individual creatures, Individual entities with expedient characteristics like self sufficiency and awareness of individuality? Seems like we are going in the normal direction scientifically, after having communally crapped in our nest for an adaquate number of centuries?

Liberalism has become just as antiquated and reactionary as conservatism. Choosing a value system based on a two-dimensional left-right spectrum really limits your choices, and we as a species need to learn to move past pissing contests as a way of solving our issues. We need to revamp education, work towards ending poverty and starvation, and especially work towards getting our species off the planet.

Eventually the "law of the jungle" will pass. Bush is unwittingly helping it along.

The EU & China will surpass us soon if we don't wizen up.

Comparatively speaking, conservatives are above liberals on the evolutionary scale as the tiger is above the amoeba.
