Can anyone with any sense compare any living figure today to Hitler? Have any of the people who have actually read history really think that Saddam, Bush or Senator Clinton compares to a man who was responsible for the exploitation, torture and slaughter of millions? Is this anything short of an insult to the loved ones of those who died at his hands, as well as the few blessed survivors?
I ask this because inane Hitler comparison questions continue to pop up on here.

Just to set the record straight:
Hitler did not only attempt to wipe out the Jewish race. He did the same with Gypsy's, mentally unstable people, physically disabled, Slavic people, and others. He also used his victims for barbaric 'experiments'. Hating one race is mild in comparrison unfortunately.

No one can compare to the genuies of such horrifying destruction as did this one man in persuadeing intellegent human beings to carry out such obtrousus acts. The ones that use his comparesing, I don't believe, truly understand what they are comparing except monsters must be kept in check and disposed of before they reach such magnitudes

Saddam can be compared to Hitler in the sense that he too was a megalomaniac.
The difference is just that the world is considerably smaller today and we saw what was going on in the world before it got too big.
In Hitler's day...it was a BIG BIG world. What happened in Europe essentially stayed in Europe until it was just spilled over to the rest of the world.

Most of the people making these ignorant comparisons know of Hitler only through history books. They weren't born yet back in the days of ww2 or the years leading up to it. You have to have lived in those times to really know the horrors perpetuated by that criminal, they would then be carefull of making comparisons.

Because people are inexperienced; they only know one world and sleep in one house under one roof for the rest of their lives. They have never seen or understood Hitler, world politics, military, war, rape, murder etc fully. It takes a person who experienced or a person of strong sense imagination, coupled with research to visualize the difference between the three.

Saddam was pretty bad, but he was no Hitler.
Stalin, Mao (remember the "Cultural Revolution"?), and the Khmer Rouge come to mind as being closest to Hitler.
Milosevic is closer to Saddam.
The jury is also out on Kim Jung Il. It'll be a long time before we really know much more about N. Korea.

Bush, Sadam, Stalin among many other wanna be Hitlers may have been resposible for the death of less people than the fuhrer but that doesnt mean they r any better. They just all fell from the same tree

Stalin had about ten times the amount of jews killed in Soviet Russia!...Mao had many (unknown millions) ethnic and religious people killed in the communist revolution in China. There was a lot of evil done in this past century...It was the devil in the guise of politics.
