Feel free to persuade me and make me understand but in a NICE POLITE RESPECTFUL MANNER!

Ok why is it that if you purposely hurt a cop whther kill him, or run him off the road or injure him you go away for a LONG time

BUT why is it that parents who abuse their children(babies especially) very negligence to them, hang around child molestors, drink heavily perform sexual acts in front of the, do drugs...they get nothing and their kids don't get taken away?

I know a personl that did this. I just don't understand why she can't get any jailtime how she treats kids but oh no if you touch a law enforcement you're going to hell.

Can you explain that to me?

my boyfriend wants to come and live with me here in uk he tried to get a student visa and that was denied. if we got married would there be a good chance he could stay here? and what sort of things do you have to go through to do this?
we love each other very much and it has been agreed if he really can't come here.I will have to try and go and live in his country. we are willing to do anything so we can stay together. please don't suggest breaking up because that isnt a option.

If the U.S. finds it impossible to stop terrorism; do you think they will cut us off from the rest of the world and close the borders completely? Alot of people say this would never happen, but I disagree. I mean if we are unable to separate the terrorists from innocent people who just want a better life, it is certainly possible! Especially in a dirty bomb attack! I think they will eventually do the only thing they can do to be certain: Stop Immigration!

I recently found out this guy I knew got busted for selling drugs. I am not a big fan of his so this was good news for me. But I was wondering how much jail time can someone get for that? Here is the exact wording of the police log: "felony charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling drugs." Also there were HUNDREDS of grams of pot between the people who got arrested.
